Although our fire was not flood damaged we decided that whilst the builder was doing the restoration work that we may as well pay him and make some other changes. One of these was a new fireplace. Since we moved in in 1999 we have had a new gas fire installed but had not changed the actual fireplace. This was a rather old fashioned seventies brick effort which had definitely seen better days. Over the last few days I have purchased a Miami Fire Surround and a Helios Electric Fire from Internet Fires Direct and have to say I am over the bloody moon. Luckily I checked out the location of their showrooms and there was showroom near where I live in Darlington. Well the showroom was actually Elton Distribution in Stockton. By going to the showroom they kindly gave me free delivery on the fire surround as the warehouse wasn't open on the Saturday. Received the delivery on the Monday afternoon!
