Orange Wednesdays are a service from the mobile phone network Orange. If you send a text to a specified number then they will send you back a code which entitles you to a free cinema ticket.

If you are watching your money then this is right up your street. We all know that cinema these days isn't exactly the cheapest thing that you can do especially if you add sweets and drink to the equation. This enables you and a friend to go and watch a film for half the price of a normal ticket. It's great if you split the cost between the two of you.

The problem with this service is it does get very packed so I'd advise you to turn up early for your showing. We usually have to queue for quite a long time and on one occasion we got to the desk and were told that there were no seats left for the film that we wanted to watch. Under the pressure of the moment we chose something else and it was pretty rubbish so we felt like we had wasted a load of cash.

The other thing that could be a little annoying to some people is the fact that it's on a Wednesday. Now I am a housewife but my hubby is a teacher so he will usually be working on a thurs so we can't plan to go too late because he is too tired for work the next day.

All in all this is a great service that could save you a fair amount of money but it's not without it's drawbacks.
