Advantages: Cheaper, speedy, easy to use, clubcard points
Disadvantages: None
stumbled across this site quite by accident, I'd just done my online grocery shop with Tesco and was about to log off completley when I noticed the tab for the DVD rental, so I decided to have a butchers at what was on offer.
What Is It
Tesco Dvd rental is an online dvd rental site which is actually run by Lovefilm and Tesco just put their name to it and probably makes quite a lot of money by doing so. It rents out DVD's and games for Gamecube, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, XBOX & XBOX 360 and also rents out HD DVD's and Blu-ray (something I know nothing about)
The Site
The site is simply laid out and very easy to navigate. On the home page you'll find a flow diagram of the 14 day fee trial which is o offer to all new users. There is a search facility where you can search by film title, actors, directors, description or game title. You can also browse by different genres, browse the games by platform, but they've also put together their own collections, each collection is a list of 100 films, for example; 100 hot hits, 100 must see movies, etc, etc. Each film has been rated by site users and once your account is set up this enables you to leave your rating on the films or games you have rented. If there is a problem with any disc they have sent, you can just log into your account and click on 'report a problem', i don't know what happens after this as I\ve never had to do it.
Signing Up
Signing up is really easy, just click on which package you require, fill in your details and choose a password, after this you'll be asked to choose at least 10 movies from the thousands on offer, you can also assign each movie a priority of high, medium or low. They try to send your higher priority ones first but they do explain that it is subject to availability.

My Experience
I signed up for the 1 disc (DVD only) package. I chose this as we only really get to sit down and watch a film on a Saturday night so there was no point having anymore. The next day my first DVD arrived, The Illusionist, which was one of my high priority choices, after watching it i posted it back in Freepost envelope provided the next day, left my rating and 2 days later received another of my high priority choices, I was really impressed and managed to get 3 dvd's during my 14 day trail (other people would probably have got through more), I was well impressed not only by the speed at which they dispatched the films but also by the fact they were all my high priority choices. Since signing up I've had a look at a few other DVD rental sites and Tesco seems to be cheaper than others , plus for Clubcard holders you get the added bonus of more points which always come in handy. They haven't let me down yet and I would highly recommend using this service to anyone.
