Advantages: Excellent service, fast turnaround!

Disadvantages: None!

I love movies, and so a couple of years ago I decided to try out online dvd rental as opposed to going down to my local dvd shop every weekend. To date I have tried Blockbuster, LoveFilm and Tesco DVD rental, and out of the three, Tesco for me have been the most reliable, have the fastest turnaround and are the most cost effective of the three.

A common problem I found with both Blockbuster and LoveFilm was that at first the dvd's would come thick and fast, top titles the lot, however after a couple of months they seemed to dry out. I no longer received top titles as they were released, it could be weeks or even months until I'd finally get one through the post. Also, there would be times when the dvd service would come to a standstill for days, even with 10+ titles in my list.

This has never happened to me with Tesco DVD Rental. I have found the service to be superb. Within 2 days of me popping a movie back in the post, another one will arrive through my letterbox. Also in the 18 months or so that I have been with Tesco, I can only ever remember one time when a dvd has got lost in the post, or misplaced.

I on average get about 8 dvd's or so a month from Tesco, which on the package that I currently am on, works out at about £1.12 a dvd, which is nearly a third less than the cost of a dvd at my local store.

Tesco have 3 unlimited packages available, ranging in price from £8.97 to £14.97, depending on the number of dvd's you wish to receive at a time. By paying a little extra on top, you can also include game rentals for all the top platforms available. There is also the cheaper option of renting just 2,3 or 4 dvd's a month.

I can't comment on Tesco's customer service as I have never had to contact them, that is how good the dvd service has been.

Tesco, for me, are head and shoulders above all other competition when it comes to dvd rentals.

Summary: The best online DVD rental service bar none!
