Advantages: Speedy service, can browse titles from your living room

Disadvantages: None!

I signed up to Tesco dvd rental on a free trial offer for three months. I have the package which allows you to have three discs at home at a time, including games rental. I found the sign up very easy to use - even if you are signing up for a free trial they have to take your card details. So if you only want the trial I strongly advise you write down the date your trial expires as in order to cancel you have to have sent all discs back to them before they can process the cancellation. If you still have discs at home on the day your free trial expires you will have to pay out for a months subscription and your card will be charged.
You search for the films you want online, and then click "Add" to add them to your rental list. You can prioritise certain titles in your list by using the "Priority" settings - you can give each title High, Medium or Low priority. They say they will send you out your high priority titles first, providing they have discs available. If there is a likely wait for a title you have in your list they will tell you, and specify whether it is a short or long wait!
They have a huge range of titles online, and you can search by actor, title, or browse by genres or collections such as "100 must-see movies". You can also add pre-orders to your rental list, so that when the disc is released you'll be sent it.
The basic jist is, you pick the films, and they send them to you. You take as long as you want to watch them, and when you send them back they'll send you the next one (providing you have titles in your rental queue). There are no late fees, and you don't have to pay postage either way. The discs are sent to you free of charge, and they include pre-paid return envelopes with the discs for you to send them back in.
They do several packages, including pay monthly and pay as you go. The pay as you go ones are cheaper, but often only allow you one disc at home at a time unless you pay a bit more. Also with the pay as you go packages the discs are sent out to you second class, so you have to wait a bit longer.
You can view your account online and see what discs are being sent to you next, and manage your rental list. I think this is a brilliant alternative to Blockbuster, where they charge you up to £5 for a new release dvd which you only get for one night!!

Summary: Try it.
