Advantages: The more you use the club the more you save.
Disadvantages: Initially it seems expensive to join.
Most of the comments seem to come from people that are either not members or people that have not fully taken advantage of the Money Club's services. Like a gym membership, it won't do you any good if you don't use it and the benefits are not always instant.
I joined after the club was recomended to me by a friend. Reading the comments they seem to be more about telephone sales than the club. Frankly I hate telemarketing. I made the mistake of answering a survey in exchange for £25.00 of vouchers and spend the next two months on the phone telling sales people that I didn't want a stair lift, double glazing etc..
I have been a member since 2002 and, over the past seven years, I have to the best of my recollection always saved considerably more than the cost of my membership.
Also since they introduced 100% cash back a couple of years ago, I can definitely say that my membership has been good value.
I check their wholesale offers on a regular basis and I do appreciate the weekly emails of special offers. (I recently purchased a 40" Samsung LCD TV through the club for £499. The best I could come up with using the Internet was £557)
They also do guarantee to save you money on items costing over £100.00.
I'm not saying that this club is right for everyone or that it is the best thing since sliced bread however for me I like to know that someone have taken the time to research my purchase and that I am paying the best price. I just don't have the time to do more than a cursory check online, and I certainly don't have the time to check the high street stores.
Summary: I'm glad that I joined and I will continue to be a member.

- 31/05/09 Would have been more helpful to add exactly how the club works, what the membership costs are and what exactly the '100% cashback' applies to and how that works. |
