Like one of the other members of this site, I ordered a VW Touran in January of this year and paid an immediate non interest-bearing deposit. The car was due for delivery on 3 May, a wait of 14 weeks. Unfortunately a week before I was informed that they had a problem with their supplier and were having to re-order the vehicles. The expected due date was now 8 June, a wait of 19 weeks.

I made several calls in the run up to 8 June to confirm that the car would be delivered as scheduled and was told that it was still on the system for an 8 June delivery. 8 June came and went with no communication. After sending an e-mail of complaint, I was informed that for some reason the order was not on the suppliers list and in fact they were going to have to re-order the car again but with now no expected delivery date other than "it could be another 14 weeks" - total 33 weeks!!.

As I still do not have the car, I have no certainty as to when this saga will end. However I would note that the following statements made on theVirgin Cars website:

"You can be confident that you are not going to be penalised with longer waiting times just because you are buying direct." - clearly not true!

"However, we do provide an approximate date and will keep you informed of progress throughout you order." - they have done nothing to keep me informed other than when I have called them.

THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL!!!!!!!!
