Advantages: Cheapness.

Disadvantages: Unreliability and poor quality associated with cheapness.

The practice of hosting customer comments is spreading, and a good one, as it allows prospective customers to learn from the experiences of others, and to see how the seller responds to problem areas. I've used this customer feedback as a resource when shopping on many websites, such as Amazon, Homebase and so on. I've bought quite a few items from 7dayshop over the years, and latterly have used their customer-submitted reviews to base buying decisions on.

That has proved to be a mistake. Several items I bought were bought as a result of glowing reviews on the 7dayshop web site, but the performance was drastically inferior to the promise. I guess there's truth in the maxim 'buy cheap, buy often', but even so, batteries that fail totally after half a dozen charge cycles are a poor argument for 'superior performance'. So, I wrote a customer review, and posted it. Nothing. No appearance. I tried several times, taking care to write a factual and impartial review, but it never appeared. Curiously, positive reviews I submitted on other products did make it to the customer review pages.

If my experience is typical -- and I have tried it several times with the same no-show result -- the customer reviews offered by 7dayshop must be treated with circumspection and caution, and essentially unreliable through biassed filtering.

Summary: Take care when using 7dayshop's customer reviews for buying decisions, it could prove costly.
