Reasons I chose PC Specialist:
I recently decided to take the plunge and purchase a gaming pc.For the last 10 years I have stuck to mainly playing on consoles however after looking into the benefits of pc gaming i decided this was the way to go.
I had originally considered ordering all the parts individually as a friend ... with some pc building skills had offered to build one for me. However after pricing all the components I was originally put off , as the system I wanted to build was going to cost too much.
My brother in law recently ordered his own laptop from pc specialist and he is extremely happy with its performance and how much it cost. He showed me their website.
Using PC Specialist Website:
We sat for 30 minutes looking through the gaming pc options and came up with a build and spec I was happy with. To my surprise I found this to be reasonably affordable. I found the website extremely useful as it explains exactly what components do and what you need to think about when selecting your spec. I also liked the way the website keeps a running total and updates every time you change a component. The website is also good at keeping you right when selecting components as it will let you know if components are not compatible and also advising things like the required power supply for the components you have chosen. After everything was selected I saved a quote which was e=mailed to me.
Ordering my PC:
After thinking about it for a couple of days I couldn't resist going back on to the PC specialist site and looking at the quote had saved. To be honest I actually found it quite addictive playing around with the component selection trying to come up with a really good spec and also managing to keep the costs down. When going ahead and placing my order I decided to utilise the finance package they offered which has an option to pay off within 12 months interest free. Completing the order took around 5 minutes and i was given an instant approval from the finance lender. Once my pc was ordered I could log into my profile on their site to check the progress of my order.
Communication:
During the order process you can log into your profile on the site which shows you what stage your order is at. You are shown a diagram that lists all the stages of the build and the reccomended time scales for
each stage . I found this to be extremely helpful and at each stage you are e-mailed to let you know the progress of your order. Once your pc has been dispatched you are e-mailed and you receive a text to let you know courier and tracking number.
Receiving Goods:
Once my pc arrive it was exactly what I had expected , in fact there was some additional media software thrown in FOC. I had my pc plugged in and up and running within 20 minutes. I am extremely happy with the PC itself and its performance.
Overall Impression:
I found PC specialist an first rate company to deal with and I cannot reccomend them highly enough. The website is very easy to use and understand. Loads of info which anyone with a moderate PC experience can understand. The communication throughout the order and build is outstanding. The system I received has been put together really well and runs like a dream. I will definately use them again in the future and I would urge anyone else to at least have a look at their site when considering buying any new laptop or gaming PC. Read the complete review |

Well I had been after a laptop that could " handle " my games for a long long time.
Anyway I discovered PC Specialist about 6 months ago and since then I had been regularly visiting the site to see what components were available etc.
I finally saved up enough money (near on £900) to purchase my Optimus Iv ... laptop.
The same specification laptop else where would be hundreds more than this price!
Here is a brief summary of my experience;
Good Points
-Delivery
Brilliant, kept up to date throughout and arrived within 14 days of ordering.
-Laptop quality/ performance etc.
Very happy! performs better than expected and looks better than it did in the photos!
-Website experience/ordering
This was actually fun (call me a nerd) the custom configuration options were amazing, and at a very reasonable price.
Bad Points
-Onkyo Speakers
The Onkyo Speakers installed on the laptops they sell are really poor quality, I invested in some good headphones and they sound pretty damn good.
That is the only negative thing I can say about the entire experience, so don't hesitate to place an order with PC Specialist :) Read the complete review |

I needed to buy a computer for my disabled daughter. Not being a 'geek', I had found it very confusing looking on the websites of the many suppliers of computers, so I turned to PC Specialists: what a relief.
I was able to look at each aspect of the machine and 'tweak' the basic spec to ensure that it did all the things I ... needed it to do. My selection was then assessed and I was told that it was compatible, I was confident that the machine I was going to purchase would work and do all that I needed it to do.
Having placed the order I was kept informed of the progress, stage by stage. It arrived within the quoted delivery time and worked straight away.
Then there is the added confidence that, should there be any problems, even if the problems are as a result of my ignorance, there will be somebody knowledgeable who will take whatever time is necessary to sort it out. Read the complete review |
