Advantages: er...nice tissue paper
Disadvantages: Slow delivery, bad courier company, no customer service
Before I go into detail I should say that previous to this experience I have never shopped at All Saints before - either in the store or online. I think their clothes are all awful grubby colours, built for people who look like Kate Moss and are ridiculously overpriced considering the quality is nothing special. To my surprise I found myself browsing in the store in Westfield a few weeks ago and after leaving without purchasing the top I wanted (decided it was overpriced) I then regretted it and went online to buy.
The site itself is quite easy to navigate, with nice images which can zoom, and plenty of relevant product information. From what I could gather the biggest size they do is a 14 (so yes Kate Moss shaped clothes) but this was fine as I had tried on a size 12 in the store and new it fitted. I ordered the top I wanted and checked out. Once I had done this I realised I had no idea how long the item would take to deliver. There were various things on the site mentioning next day delivery in London but I hadn't been offered this during checkout and no where could I find any delivery information.
Three days later I found in the Help section some information saying my item would be delivered in 3-5 days. Ok fine I thought, it will be here in time for my night out I had planned to wear the top to. So I waited.....and I waited....and I waited. 11 days later I got a card pushed through my door from UPS.
I telephoned UPS to see if i could get the item redelivered and they were so unhelpful (but that's another story). I emailed All Saints to complain about the delivery service I had received and the site confirmation promised me I would receive a reply within two working days. You guessed it, I'm waiting.....
I finally organised a redelivery to my work place and got my item two weeks after I ordered it. The top is nice, the price was great as there was a 20% offer I hadnt realised was on, and it was packed beautifully in tissue paper (though in a ridiculously sized box - probably if they didnt pack things so heavily they could fit through the letterbox :-) ), but to be honest I wouldn't shop at All Saints again. Not only was the service rubbish in the first place but then to not receive a reply to my complaint just made it worse.
Summary: Don't bother

- 19/12/08 If the website is as hostile as the shops are, I'm surprised it doesn't log you out unless it thinks you're a supermodel. |
