Advantages: Great service, easy to use site

Disadvantages: Price that go up and down

Well in all honesty I'm a bit of a Amazon newbie to be honest. I first discovered the site around 6 months ago but only started buying from there about 3 months ago. Obviously i had heard of the site long before but i had never really bothered with and had always stuck with eBay.
Setting up my account was easy enough-a few simple steps including my email address, creating a pass-word and adding a delivery address was all that was really required, and then i was ready to go.
In all fairness i really wish that i had come across the site sooner as it really did help with my christmas shopping this year (or should i say last year now).
I managed to get a lot of books, Cd's dvd's, and children's toy's for a lot less than i would be paying in the shops and overall i saved quite a bit of money.

I have learnt though, that not everything is cheaper from here and it's best to stick to buying direct from Amazon for most things as some of the traders who sell on the site, price their goods pretty high and can catch you out with high delivery prices as well.

Delivery from Amazon direct though was brilliant and i often took advantage of their 'super saver delivery package' where if you spend over £5.00 delivery is free, although it does take a little longer than first class- they say 4-5 working days longer, but i found that the goods i ordered usually arrived within 2-3 days.

I think that more and more people are using amazon to sell their products rather than eBay because there fees are a lot cheaper and you do get more for you money. Although i do think that the usage of both Amazon and eBay are pretty equal and that more and more people are switching to Amazon because products are cheaper on the site.

I don't tend to use eBay that often any more because i think that sellers are asking way to much for items so more recently i have stuck to Amazon. I think the overall service is great and although i have only been buying from there for a few months not once have i had any problems. The site is easy to use and access to your account is easy. They have a recommendation page where they pick out products that they think might be beneficial to you, based on what you have already brought or things that are in your wish list.

I think the only downside is that the prices of things brought directly from Amazon seem to go up and down all the time for instance one minute a Cd could be priced at £13.99 one day and the next it could have rose to £15.99 but then the next day it falls again, so you have to keep an eye for when the lowest price has come up.
Other than that i really love the site and in their sale have managed to grab some great bargains.

Summary: One of the best online buying sites going

I choose ebid.net

Why?

Free Listing

Small (or none depending on membership) FVF.

Due to ebay's monopoly, ebid is a BUYERS market, with extremely high chance of not being outbid.
