Advantages: Sending item back is very easy to do

Disadvantages: Books could take a while to arrive

I do a lot of shopping online and for the last couple of years I have been using Amazon a huge lot.

I am sure a lot of you will know that Amazon sells a wide range of goods such as books, dvds, cds, cameras and toys. I usually purchase books and dvds as Amazon seem to be a lot cheaper than a lot of other places.

It is very easy to sign up to Amazon and will only take a couple of minutes, the website is very easy to navigate and there is a good search button.


**Customer Service**

A few months ago we purchased a swap top desk for my sons birthday, we checked the website to find out when the item would be delivered and eagerly waited for our parcel. Our parcel arrived and we decided to put it together straight away while my son was out, it became pretty clear once we opened the box that there was going to be a problem as some of the wood was damaged.

My husband logged onto Amazon and eventually found out how to return our item, all he had to do was book a time for the courier to pick up the item and print out a label and return sheet. We then recieved a confirmation e-mail to tell us the date that the courier was coming and when our replacement package would arrive.
The following morning the courier arrived promptly to pick up our parcel and a couple of hours later on time arrived our replacement parcel which came in perfect condition.

Amazon paid for us to return the damaged item.

** What do I think?**

Amazon seems to be one of the best companies on the internet at the moment they get the thumbs up from me not just because of their prices but also because they care about their customers.

Whenever I purchase an item I can just log onto my account to see if my item has been dispatched, if it has then I am given an approximate date for arrival though it usually comes way before then.
If there is a problem with your order for example sometimes Amazon has trouble getting me books that come from the USA they will e-mail and tell me that there is a problem and that it might take a few weeks for the books to arrive, I am then given the option of cancelling my order and if I have ordered other items with the books they will send these out at no extra cost.

My items arrive well wrapped and the only problem I have ever had has been the workbench.

The other thing I like about Amazon is last christmas my family were asking for ideas on what to get my son, so I simple created a wishlist for him and sent my family a link, they were then able to see what my son wished for and I could see what they have bought him.

** One Final Thing**

If you spend over £5 at Amazon you can have free delivery.
