Advantages: Reductions appear online, reservations always in store, deliveries prompt and without parts missing.

Disadvantages: Search feature could do with improving.

Argos.co.uk is the website for the 'catalogue shop' (as they call themselves), Argos.

If you want to order something from Argos but you don't want to go out and get it, you can order it from their website. You can also check whether or not what you want to buy is in stock in the store or not, and if it is in stock, you can reserve it.

When you go to the website, you can choose which category to browse, or you can search for something. I usually search for something, because browsing a category might bring up 70 web pages (like the catalogue might have 70 pages in a category) and that takes a long time to go through online.

This is the only real problem I find with the online site- when you search for something, it takes a long time and a lot of different combinations of search terms to be able to find what you are looking for.

Once I have found it, however, things are smooth from then on. If I reserve something to pick up in store, I have always found that it has been there (even in this busy festive period) and when I have ordered something for delivery (which I only do if it's heavy) I have received the delivery promptly and with no problems or pieces missing. For example, I have ordered a few pieces of furniture and I have never even had one small screw or anything missing. I think that that is quite impressive.

I would like to mention one really great thing about the website- it tells you if an item is reduced. If you are shopping in store, you can't know from the catalogue whether something is reduced, and the price might put you off. If you check first online, however, the item that you want that would appear to be too expensive in store, you might find is within your price range online. I hope this little bit of information is helpful to somebody!

Merry Christmas all!

Summary: Reliable form of online shopping.
