Advantages: cheap, offers reservation as well as delivery
Disadvantages: not the best quality
I find the Argos website much better to use for finding good deals than going to the store and flicking through the catalog. You can search for the item you are looking for and then either order it for delivery or reserve it for store pick up. You can enter your postcode and it will let you know which Argos stores near you stock the item and gives you the ability to reserve it for about a day. I find this saves a lot of time and effort.
The website also has reviews by people who bought the item. When you pick something, like a dresser for example, it shows you related items or items from the same range. It also notifies you of any deals related to your item.
Delivery charge is the same no matter how many items you order. It's 5.95 for small items and 8.95 for large items. This makes it really cheap when you are buying furniture or appliances. On the other hand if you are just after one small item, you are better of picking it up at store. I have ordered several times and they almost always deliver on the day you pick. The items come packaged well and I only had a problem with them delivering the wrong item once. I didn't complain though because the missing item was very cheap and not worth the hassle.
One thing I don't like about the site though is that in the sales section a lot of items are sold out. To be honest almost 80% of items are sold out and you get excited over nothing. You would probably miss some good deals as well because it's just boring to go through pages of sold out items to find one that is not.
They tend to have good deals on electronics and appliances but sometimes I find amazon or ebay to be cheaper. So it's always worth it to check on all three. Usually they give you a 10 pound voucher when you buy so you can save on your next purchase. As for furniture, It's cheap and looks ok but I always find their stuff shaky no matter how careful I was putting it together. In one dresser the drawers kept falling out of their place and I had to put cardboard behind the things that hold the drawer into place so it would be the right size.
Summary: I would buy from them again but no furniture
