Advantages: Cheap DVD's, Free delivery

I think this is the right place to write review, it is about the entertainment part of the asda website, which can be accessed throught www.asda.co.uk, but it can also be found at www.asda-entertainment.co.uk.

I was searching high and low for the only fools and horses series 1-7 boxset for my boyfriend for his birthday. Everytime we went into HMV he would always look at the boxset but then see the £39.99 price and think against buying it, so I thought I would have a look on the internet to see if I could find it any cheaper. I went on many websites and found prices cheaper than HMV, I think I found it at £35.99, not bad but still too expensive, £31.99 good, but plus delivery making it over £35.00, and then somehow I ended up on the asda website. I searched in the search box for only fools and horses boxset and it was there, I had to double check the price as I could'nt really believe it, £28.93!!! Bargain I thought, but wait...I bet the delivery charges are about £8 if the dvds are this cheap! But to my suprise.... Free Delivery!! Wow definately glad I came on this website!

So I thought i'd better get it straight away as I was sure I wasnt going to find it anywhere cheaper. I ordered it online and everything was very simple and easy to understand, you register for the site and fill out all your basic information and then fill out your bank details which seems very secure and safe which I had no problems with, and then it was done! Simple, just had to wait for it to arrive!
On the website it states that the delivery time is 3-5 days.

I ordered the boxset on the Wednesday 16th September 2009. I recieved a confirmation email staright away, which also contained an order reference number where you are able to track your order.

On Monday 21st September (5 days later) the money was withdrawn from my bank account.
And also on this day I recieved an email saying my order had been dispatched.
Also on this email it says delivery is 3-5 days but can sometimes take a little longer due to postal delays. Allow upto 10 days before contacting us of your delay.

This was the last I heard from Asda until the Monday 28th Septmeber (7 days later than it had been dispatched and 12days later than I had ordered it) when I recieved my package.

What I think needs to be said here, is that within the week of the 21st September, I ordered other things from other websites which all came before my asda delivery which was the last thing to come but was the first thing which I ordered.

Maybe with free delivery this is to be expected and honestly I would rather wait a few extra days than pay for delivery! Just wish I had known how long it would have taken when I ordered it as it came just in time for my boyfriends birthday (30th September!), but it was all worth it as he loved it!!!

P.S- Having just looked again at the only fools and horses boxset ont he asda entertainment website, the price for it now is £35.99! Makes my deal an even better bargain!

Summary: Definately look here for cheap dvds/cd's just be prepared to wait for them!
