Why Asda

My brother who is ill always shops at ASDA so he knows the products there.
Ordering

This is very simple. You register on line and you can choose an address where to have this sent which is brilliant if you are like me ordering for someone else.
Asda will ask you to choose a memorable date and your own pin number. When you have registered they will send you a personal number.

You fill in your payment card details and then you are ready to order. You will be asked when you want your order to come and gives you a two hour slot around that time. I found it easier to put the time slot in before I ordered rather than at the end.
On your screen you will have different categories which you just click on to find the item you want. There is a box for ticking if you want that item to be registered for the next time you go on line which is great if you always buy that item.

Next you put how many you want and to the right of your page you will see the list of goods you have ordered.
Now on a Saturday the Daily Mail does a tv magazine which is good so I went to the "papers" section where there was The Mirror, The Times and the Telegraph but no mail. Come on the Mail is not like asking for the Farmers weekly so I thought that I must have "lost" it somewhere and telephoned them. I was told no they dont do the Daily Mail and no they could not pick one off the shelf and put it in with the order.

I did the order and the bill came to £84.15. I did not see till ages afterwards that if you order £99 worth you get the delivery charges free. As it was the delivery was £5.00.
Once you have put in your order they send an email confirming all is well. You can add to this list if you wish.

Problem
I know we have had a lot of bad weather but have noticed deliveries getting through. I ordered this on Thursday for a 10pm to 12pm slot on Saturday. By Saturday (today) the roads are clearer but at 9.10am my brother had a telephone call saying "sorry, we cannot deliver today, your order will be despatched on Wednesday". Half an hour later he was told "sorry all deliveries have now been cancelled".

End
I then decided to try Tescos. Ordered exactly the same items, Delivery was £4.50 and the shopping bill was £6.00 cheaper.

I will now go to Tescos and give ASDA a wide berth

on ciao as well

Summary: their delivery, which is what they are about, lets them down big time
