Just not of the standard expected (Asda.com)

Advantages: Well designed website, easy and quick to order, good variety of products, good value

Disadvantages: Poor customer service and cancellation procedures lead to a lot of hassle

Let me start by saying that I am reviewing ASDA.com not as an online grocery store but the website I have used for purchases of dvds, games and cds.
Asda.com is a well designed and simple to use website which I have often used to check rough prices of items and on a couple of occassions have actually used for ordering items but unfortunately it has not all been plain sailing.
I ordered an item which game me an estimated delivery time frame so I knew when ordering I was not expecting to get the item in the post the next day but when I had given them 2 weeks over the time frame given as a maximum I decided enough was enough and went on to try to cancel the order but how difficult can a website make it to cancel an item? I looked around the site for sometime before finding that in order to cancel an order I needed to e-mail asda.com and request this be cancelled. Job done I thought but when I got a response back 3 days later to say they could not cancel the order I was left shocked but decided this must mean the item was on the way. I gave this another 5 working days and no item so e-mailed again and finally managed to get confirmation that the item would not be available for sometime (with no exact time frame available) and so they agreed to cancel my order. Just too much hassle for my liking.
So is it all bad or are there good points?

Positives:

- An easy to use website
- Quick to place an order
- Free delivery
- Good prices
- Good variety of products

Negatives:

- A lot of items are always out of stock
- Poor customer service responses to e-mails
- Delivery times can take longer than other online retailers
- Poor cancelation procedures

So would I use this website again? Well to be honest I wouldn't unless the item was in stock and I knew I would not need to alter or cancel the order in anyway shape or form.

Summary: Not had the best of experiences and with so much competition out there won't be using them again
