“ AtomRetro.com / Mod Retro Indie Clothing „
Being a lover of retro clothing and in particular the Mod scene, I was looking around for a Harrington jacket, I had a browse online and I had seen a few, way out of my price range and also there wasn't a colour that really stood out for me. That was until I came across this site and saw a bright orange one at a very reasonable price, yeah bright orange, I was liberating myself from the dull and boring colours my ex used to buy for me and try to make me wear, I wanted to buy something that would say, "This is me!".
== What is it? ==
www.atomretro.com is a site that specializes in Mod and Indie clothing, often at good reduced prices. It sells the kind of things you would find difficult to get on the high street. I often find high street shopping a bit samey and I like to look different, atomretro certainly sells the clothes that would enable you to do that. The site doesn't just cater for men either, there is a vast women's section
== Ease of use ==
I found the website really easy to use, down the left hand site is a list, with mens clothing and all the various sub headings, such as; trousers, Baracuta harrington and all the different sub headings for that, shoes, trainers sixties Mod polos, shirts, suits, jeans etc. Underneath the mens list is the womens list with various things such as; retro dresses, tops, jeans, skirts, shoes etc. There is also an accessory list with sunglasses, bags, wallets, braces, belts etc. The lists are quite extensive and far too many to list in this review. When you click on the clothing type you want, you browse through until you find an item you like and add it to the shopping basket.
There are various delivery charges to choose from, once you've chosen the one you want, you click "continue".
UK Delivery = £3.50
UK Mainland Express Delivery = £4.95
UK Mainland Saturday Delivery = £10.00, to qualify for this you have to place your order before 1pm Friday
Europe Delivery = £9.00
Rest of the World Delivery = £9.00
The next screen gives you three options, you can either register, login if registered, or continue as a guest. The registration form doesn't take long to fill out and it is worth it, as you do get regular emails informing you of special deals and new stock. You can either pay through paypal, with a credit/debit card or you can pay through google. I like the choices on offer here, but I find paypal a lot easier as I didn't have to add all my card details.
If you have opted for a mainland delivery option, once the order has been dispatched you get an email with a tracking number on it and you can go to the site at any time to track the progress of your order, which is really handy.
== Verdict ==
I love this site and I wish I was in the financial position to be able to purchase more clothes from there at the moment. The bad thing about it, for me, is that they keep bringing out new stuff, and because I'm registered on the site, they keep sending me emails informing me of the new stuff they have brought out, it's like someone saying to me "look what I've got and you can't afford it at the moment". The RRP on the jacket that I bought was £109.00 and I managed to get it from this site for £54.50 + £3.50 for UK delivery, which I thought was quite good. Within a few days it had arrived, neatly packaged and ready to wear, so not only was it cheap, but delivery was quite fast too. Overall I'd give this site 5/5, it was so easy to use, the clothes are reasonably priced, the choice is vast (you will be spoiled for choice), there's plenty of helpful information on there about delivery charges, and once ordered the delivery is quick.
