Advantages: Really nice gift idea. You can specify delivery date.

Disadvantages: Don't pay extra for early delivery - it obviously doesnt always work! :(

Last year i was not in the country for Valentines day and Mothers day, so rather than waiting until i got back (its really not the same is it?) i wanted the special people in my life to have a nice surprise on the day.

Years ago someone i used to work with had a balloon delivery at work on her birthday - she opened the box and it floated out - it was great!
So i just typed in a google search for balloon deliveries, and balloon monkey.co.uk was a sponsored result.

The website is quite easy to navigate and has all of the popular occasions listed in links, so you just click on the occasion - eg. 'congratulations' '50th birthday' etc.

For valentines day i ordered a singing balloon, which is basically a balloon with a little gadget attached which sang "you are my sunshine" - there are other tunes you can pick too. You get a free little box of celebrations with every balloon as well. And i chose to add a voice message - they send you a phone number and you phone it and leave your personal voice message, its a bit like using an answer phone.
My other half works far away from home so I paid an extra £2 to have it delivered to his work place before 1pm as i knew he would be traveling back home in the afternoon. They let me down in this part, because it didn't arrive before 1pm so he never got it until Monday when he went back to work! >:(
As for mothers day, i chose a singing 'mothers day' balloon - obviously. Which arrived on the day and had very nice reactions :)

You can get balloons from £13 which sounds a lot when you think of what it really is! But its a nice change from the usual flowers, a bit novel, fun, and won't fail to put a smile on someones face. So its worth it in my books

(They lose a star for not delivering before 1pm when i paid extra money to ensure this!)

Summary: Its a shame they let me down with delivery as the product itself is really good.
