bananas.co.ukNewest Review: ... retailer price with savings of up to 94%. Clearly you're thinking OK theres some huge hidden catch. If there is I haven't found it. As The Book People.co.uk's end of line arm they don't hold a lot of stock of anything but this is clearly indicated with the label "nearly gone" on specific titles. If the prices weren't already good enough they go on to offer even cheaper multi-buy ... more |

Name one high street bookstore where you can buy a brand new and more importantly relatively current book title for 50p. Struggling? Thats because even the charity shops charge more than that for a used paperback. You'd be amazed then to discover an on-line retailer doing just that. At Bananas.co.uk the books are cheap but not nasty. Of course they're not all 50p. But they are all a fraction of their recommended retailer price with savings of up to 94%. Clearly you're thinking OK theres some huge hidden catch. If there is I haven't found it. As The Book People.co.uk's end of line arm they don't hold a lot of stock of anything but this is clearly ... I first heard about Bananas.co.uk from a review on Dooyoo - thanks Azana! The site is a relatively new offshoot of the Book People, essentially operating as a clearance section by selling off older stock at bargain prices. All different types of book can be found on the site but there seemed considerably more choice available in the children's section than in the adults', certainly as far as fiction goes. There are also non-fiction titles available, including autobiographies and cookery books. There really is something for everyone here although, admittedly, there are not as many titles available as you would expect from a mainstream site, rather than a clearance ... Bananas is the sister site of The Book People, which you may be aware sell a number of books through organisations such as schools. I'd always thought The Book People had great prices but Bananas goes one better! It is an online clearance shop, which I can only imagine sells off The Book Peoples unwanted stock. The website is bright and colourful and very easy to navigate depending on what you want to buy eg. childrens books, baby and picture books. You can also navigate to your account and to the help pages quickly and easily. The help pages contain a lot of information including how to order and delivery information. However, just because it ... Read the complete review

Irecieved a random email inviting me to view the banans website a few months ago and I was so astounded by the prices that I brought loads of books for my son for his birthday and christmas. I couldn't believe the prices and that they offered free delivery for orders over £25 especially as books are so heavy to deliver. I feltthat the kids books were by far the best in terms of number of titles avaialable and the titles are well known books I brought the flanimals box set for £5 the books are available individually in town at £6 per book so this has got to be a bargain. My son is a keen reader and gets through many books so by the time I have travelled four miles to ... Read the complete review

http://www.bananas.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/catalog_10602_40154_100 What Is It? --------------- Well, it sells books - really really cheap books!!! or 'Bunches of bargain books' as is their slogan. Layout --------- The site is colourful - mainly yellows as you would expect from a site called 'bananas', with images of various monkeys. At the top you will find 4 clearly labelled tabs - shop, account, help and basket and right next to that an option to make a direct search for the product you are looking for. Underneath this is a row of 'recently added' books - which provides a really quick way of ... Read the complete review
