I ordered a Samsung Microwave C139T via helpful Emma at 3pm. She said it would arrive the next day and it did via Interlink Express. (From S. Wales to Cheshire via a warehouse in Old Trafford on an overnight service.) How many times are you told that to end up waiting three days? The Microwave arrived and I opened the box and set it up. I read the manual, set the language and clock and then placed a glass of water in the machine-after inserting the roller and glass turntable. I set the power, set the time and then pressed start. Nothing. I read the manual again and followed the correct procedure and pressed start. Nothing. Contacted Technical support at Samsung to check i'd done nothing wrong and I hadnt. The Engineer informed me that it was likely to be a faulty unit and to return it to the vendor. I contacted BE Direct and was put through to their Returns specialist called Ronnie. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He informed me that the Unit would have to be returned and inspected, before another unit was despatched. This policy is an inevitable consequence of the dishonesty of some customers, rather than a reflection on BE. He arranged collection. The following day the unit was picked up. One day later the Microwave was back in Carmarthen. It was tested and found to be faulty. Ronnie took the time and effort to do good old fashioned groundwork by telephoning and emailing me and another unit was despatched which arrived on Monday following that weekend as Saturday deliveries are more expensive. So The transaction starts on: 22nd March at 2.00pm and the 2nd Microwave arrives at 9.00am on the 31st March, which may sound like a long time but when you take into account the logistics had there not been a weekend it would have been back here on the 29th March at 9am. Thats just under 7 days! Given the amount of inconvenience I sh
ould be complaining. But its hardly BE's fault its Samsungs. If I were to rate BE Directs service i'd give Ronnie and Emma 95% out of 100% and i'd feel mean at that. This company and significantly their couriers have been faultless. You know both chains in the link will endeavour to get things done. Combined with that refreshing friendly customer service, I know ill be going back if the price is right. You were a pleasure to do business with. Thanks Emma & Ronnie.
If your interested in buying a product it's worth checking be-direct before you do, I was in search of a mini-disc and found in on their site for £35 cheaper than in the argos catalogue. Be-directs site gives you quite a bit of information about the product you desire and if you have barcleycard reward points you can use them to get a discount! The customer service is of a high standard and when I enquired about the mini-disc instead of keeping me on hold why they found out the information I required, they rang me back! They also gave me a date when it would arrive and sure enough it did, in 3 working days, which is very good when you consider that it is FREE delivery in the UK. Be-direct is definately worth checking out!
I discovered this site today, from a search on minidisc players. I want the new Sony MZG750 - a personal mini-disc recorder with radio tuner. At dixons, currys, etc, ti is £199.99 - which I was prepared to pay, but as usuaul, when I wen to Dixons, they didnt have anything!! So, I decided to see if I could get a better deal online. I found the md for £169.99! Excellent deal, especially since unlike all the other sites, delivery is FREE!! Sheerly by chance, my computer logged out of the site, and I was delighted to discover that there is a pop-up window that says if u were unable to find what you were looking for, give them details, and they'll get back to you. This, I did, just for the fun of it! and pleasantly received a prompt response [10 minutes later]. THIS IS WHERE IT GOES PEAR_SHAPED!Unfortunately, the reply told me that they had none insotck, and wouldnt for at least EIGHT WEEKS!! Why didn't it say this on the site!! I got all the way to thecheckout, and wasnt told!!! The products here are cheaper, but that small oversight has cost them my custom!! Back to totenham court Road it is!! IT GETS BETTER! I've had to come back online today to change my opinion. Within a few days of writing the above opinion, I received an e-mail from a bigwig down at be-direct explaining their situation with reticent suppliers. SO, I hereby apologise for blamin them. It's Sony that's at fault for my long wait, and I will happily wait to purchase the md player from them!! The best thing about Be-direct.com is that they seem to BE DIRECT!!
I ordered an Mp3 player from BE Direct a few moths ago. I bought from them because they were the cheapest for that product and they were a 'Which? Webtrader', meaning they have to follow their code of practice. I paid £75 for a 32MB Samsung Yepp that would have cost over £150 from most other retailers both online and offline at the time. Therefore, their price was superb. Do note however, that they aren't always the cheapest place to buy items, so do shop around. I asked them a question over the phone, there were no queues, and the person who answered was very friendly and helpful (I was enquiring about warrenties). I placed my order at 4pm, on a Tuesday and the item arrived- in Norfolk, at my house, from their warehouse/shop in South Wales at 9am the next day. The product came complete with a detailed receipt, and it was boxed, sealed and probably in better condition than if I had bought it on the high street! Therefore, I found them fast, friendly and efficient- I buy online almost weekly and they are the best shop on the web I have ever bought from.
I decided to use an online retailer to buy a new video recorder mainly because Argos had sold out of the make and model I wanted, but happily discovered that it was cheaper buying on the Web. BE Direct charged me £11 less than the recommended retail price, and delivery was included in that price. I paid online using my credit card. Their stock is divided into categories which you need to browse to find what you want, but they also have some nice extras, such as a "bargain basement" section for those really cheap items, a "star buy" section for their value-for-money items, and also a reward scheme for returning customers. Importantly, they are also accredited by Which, the industry watchdog. The next day I was called by a representative from their customer service team, who told me that unfortunately they were out of stock of that item - it would be 8 days before they could ship it to me. They made it clear that I was welcome to cancel or change my order if this was a problem, but since my old video recorder was still (just) working, I said I was happy to wait. At the same time she asked for my old address for security reasons, and I was reassured to know they were checking on credit card details. They called again to let me know that my video was on its way. They could only tell me that delivery would be between 8.30 and 5.30 on a certain day, so I asked them to deliver to my workplace which they were happy to do. The video arrived around nine the next morning - unfortunately having installed it I was disappointed to discover that the eject mechanism didn't work properly. (I'd gone for a cheap model, and I wasn't too surprised). I emailed them as soon as I got into work the next day, and was rung a couple of hours later by another representative, who said they'd be happy to organise a replacement, but of course it would be another 8 days. He had a brief list of similar models for the same price range, and in the end I upgr
aded to a different make and model after he offered me £24 off the price they were charging on their website. The replacement arrived the next day at 9.30am, and the same courier took away the faulty recorder. All in all, I was very happy with BE Direct. I don't blame them for the first video recorder not working properly - unfortunately if you're buying at the lower end of the market these things aren't always unexpected - and I was very impressed with the speed in which they resolved the problem and the discount they gave me to keep me a happy customer.
