When the covers of my lovely IKEA sofa started to develop pink patches (they were originally charcoal) I was devastated. The sofa itself was as good as new, but had started to look like a pink and black Hyena! I phoned, emailed and visited the IKEA store - and eventually discovered that they had stopped making my Karlanda sofa, and they did not supply replacement covers for discontinued lines. I have to say the IKEA staff generally seem to be highly trained in the Land of Grump - but one lovely sales assistant looked very furtive, and whispered the magic word "Bemz".
