In sixth form, I had a sizing session at a local underwear shop. They told me I was an E cup.
For years, I was stuck in 'old-lady' style bras as that was all I could find in my size.
After glancing through one of those leaflet books that offer you free brochures, I discovered Bravissimo.

They start at a D cup for most ranges, and go up to a J in most. They offer bra's of all shapes and styles, including basques and strapless, Clothing specially designed for boobs (anyone with big boobs will understand never wearing shirts) and swimwear. They've recently branched into sleepwear.

Over the years, I have tried many things from Bravissimo. I simply adore the strappy tops, which have hidden underwire bras built into the top. I could not survive a summer without them! I have them in every colour, strappy and halterneck varieties. They may seem a little expensive for a top (around £25-£35 each), but once you've tried one, you won't think that ever again! You can wear them with everything, you wont get bored.

The swimwear is a god send. I can't describe how uncomfortable and ego-shattering wearing swimwear and not feeling supported is. You dont walk properly, and certainly dont sit or swim properly. Finding somewhere that does a range of swimwear, not only designed for big boobs, but that keeps you supported through everything, is amazing. You notice it in how you hold yourself the first time you wear it.
I have many different ones now! A lovely halterneck one-piece, a couple of tankini's - I just wish i had the body for their gorgeous bikinis!

I have recently purchased two items of clothing. A top and a dress. The top has the waistband UNDER my bust - this is something I've never found. It is cut well, lovely material. A really lovely top. It accentuates my bust, without sticking it under peoples noses - if you know what I mean.
The dress is elegant and sophisticated. Cut round the bust well, shows the decollage without being smutty. Flows over my hips to sit just below my knee. It was expensive (£75) but for a special occasion, I think justified.

I have one of the sleepwear tops. The idea is to give you soft support to sleep in. So there is no hidden bra, but the type of shelf you'd normally find in supported swimwear. The outter part to the top is a soft t-shirt like material, with spaghetti straps (adjustable of course). As the range is realitively new, the choice isn't huge. It needs some sleeved tops for this horrible cold winter, and some 'slinky' items for those naughty weekends. I'm sure they'll expand their range as demand requires.

I've just realised that I havent actually mentioned the bra's! Needless to say I've bought several over the years. On occasion I have been disappointed - either the fit wasn't right for me, or it didnt fit, or I didnt like it in the flesh - which was not a problem. The returns process is very simple. stick the provided sticker on the box, tick a few boxes on the paper work, and take to the post office. You dont have to ring them first if you dont want, it's all explained fully in the paperwork they send with your order. Refunds are swift and without hassle, replacements are also swift.

The website is easy to navigate, and you can search by type of item or size.

I fully acknowledge that the items are not the cheapest around - but comparing the prices to other shops, I found that they're all around same for the size I need. I would recommend watching out for the sales though!

There are a few other sites specialising in larger busts, figleaves and brastop to name two. I have bought from Figleaves before, and have found them professional and the site is useful. As yet, I havent bought from brastop.

I can't recommend Bravissimo highly enough. If you have big boobs, visit the website. Request a catalogue.
