Whatever you do people dont join Britannia they are the most unreliable company ever. Not trustworthy or even the slight care about your problems.

About Two years ago We started a membership up with their Video Service because the offer buy Four Videos for the price of one sounded quite appealing....

We thought it was brilliant and ordered the same day Matilda,Die Hard,Flubber,Scream they said it was £14.00 for the dvds plus £2.40 for the postage and packing and we agreed £16.40 for the four. They sent out the films and we got them about two weeks later and watched them then two weeks later a bill arrived not for £16.40 NO! £44.64 We called them up telling them and they made the biggest lie ever by saying ''Sorry, We must have charged you the real prices'' So we talked to them and they agreed that £16.40 would be fine - we paid and then 4 weeks later our next statment arrived and it said £0.00 Judging that this was the first time we had dealt with the company it didnt seem to us they where very reliable. The next week after that we got another letter advertising a new video I cant remember but I think it was The Matrix and they said if we didnt send them a letter or ring there rip-off number they would send it out, We phoned them up and the lady told us that it was cancelled then the following two weeks after we recieved The Matrix - A Movie we owned anyway (bought from Sainsburys) but anyway we phoned the rip-off 40p a minute number and they said you didnt cancel anything we have a log and you didnt cancel - basically we where being called liars.Then at our own expense which was the only option we had to pay for Britannia to send it to us £2.40 - and we also had to send them there video back in registered post £4.00 more. So we had to pay £6.40 for a movie we had to give back, had to ring and expensive number two times and had been called liars. Next Month recieved a statment payed £6.40 then the balance should be £0.00 - but NO!.
we have been charged another £4.00! for Britannia - they said we didnt apply the correct postage and they had to pay extra to get it to themselves, We went to the post office they said there was no such fee paid by them - correct postage had been paid on our sides and then we phoned them up. They said that we where lieing again!. They made up a fee that didnt exist we didnt have no choice but they said they would send a balief round to collect stuff from our house for the value of £4.00 - how embrassing would that be everyone in our street would watch. So we agreed to pay £4.00 then next statment arrives paid off thats fine. For another year we had sucess and cancelled all recommended recordings sucessfully.Then we realesed that we where have way through out membership and it said we had to at least bought 4 more videos by this time so we did we bought Friends Series 4 Episodes 1-4,5-8,9-12,13-16 and they where £14.00 each equalling up and adding £4.40 for postage and packing made it £60.40 - we thought it was only fair we paid. Then we got a letter the next week saying we hadnt been the best people to custom with, how insulting! then we thought we would ask them if we bought 2 more videos as what the membership stated they would close the account so i bought the other two videos from the Friends Series 4 17-20,21-24 then paid £30.40 for them paid they said they would close our account. But the next week we got a letter saying that we have to pay for magazine charges for sending them out to us! for 2 years because we wanted to end our membership early and we phoned up saying it was unfair they said if we didnt pay £4.40 we would have to apay penalty charge of £40.00 so we decided to take the easy way out. Then we got another letter saying the following week saying our membership had been cancelled and then we got a call later that week telling us that they would like to offer us a video for the inconvience caused - we told them where they could put there video!, the
y even said we are currently making a DVD Club - are you intrested in recieveing more information of that - I was going to swear I wanted to I really wanted to but took the easier way and Said NO thank you and then I got a frame believe Me i got a frame and framed the membership cancelled letter.

Well that was our experince with Britannia and I can tell you they arent my faviorute company at the moment. Our whole family hate Britannia.

So to sum up, If you are thinking of joining this pathetic company than dont bother - read our experince over and over again. Dont be tempted by Them
