Advantages: Don't have to go to the shop!

Disadvantages: Won't be delivered on the day you want

*BEAR IN MIND* that if you're not at home on the day of delivery your flowers will be taken to a (undoubtedly) closed Post Office depot and will stay at least the night there. While this is not a problem for the majority of cases, if you want a delivery for an important day, such as Valentines Day (their most lucrative day of the year) it IS NOT GUARANTEED. If you have ordered the majority of gifts from them, with their chocolates/balloons/teddy bear add-ons, you will leave your loved ones presentless and sorely disappointed. If you were planning to propose that day this would have completely soiled your plans. Experience has left me sour. Quoted terms and conditions at me when I complained, explaining how I could have been an additional £4.95 out of pocket by selecting Special Delivery, which would have given me the same outcome. Use 0800 FLOWERS instead.

I've used them in the past for about 3 years, and to be fair, they have been very good. Flowers arriving on time, replacements for flowers that were damaged.

However, this last taste has left a very bitter taste in the mouth. As a couple who work all day (funnily enough 9am-5:30pm; the same times as the Post Office Depot to which the flowers were taken). In the past, flowers have been left outside our flat. Top floor, nobody passes it at all during the day so would have been perfectly okay to leave there, especially given what day it was a little common sense could have been used.

When I complained, I received the following email:

"I am very sorry to hear that the flowers for your order were returned to the delivery office but I am afraid that this is the standard delivery procedure that if there is no answer at the door that the flowers are to be returned for safe keeping and a calling card will be left as a signature is required from someone at the delivery address. These details are shown on our website and I have included a copy of the details for you below.

Optional Special Delivery Details
For an additional fee of £4.95 we offer a guaranteed delivery on the day of your choice between 8am and 3pm (valid Monday to Saturday only, deliveries do not take place on Sunday). There are no deliveries on Bank Holiday's. Flowers delivered by this service will need to be signed for by the recipient. For next working day deliveries, orders must be placed before 4pm.

For a refund to be issued we would request that the flowers are returned to us and a refund will be issued on the items return.

I apologise for any disappointment this matter has caused.

Kind Regards "

The special delivery option would have left us in the same predicament, as working people.

I can't blame the Post Office entirely as that's who bunches use as their courier for their service. A service that failed miserably on this occasion.

Summary: Extemely disappointed
