While shopping here is easy, some of the attractions to the website are false. For instance, if a product is listed as being in stock, that may not be true. When I ordered a hard-to-find book BECAUSE it was listed as available, I assumed it would be shipped right away. I paid for two-day shipping. A week later, it hadn't shipped; so I contacted customer service (which is only availbe by email). I was told it was out of stock and to cancel, I needed to submit a cancel request. I ordered two items--a CD that was advertised as "free shipping" and an S-video cable that was $1.55 for "budget 14-21 day shipping," and the company charged me $6.27 in shipping! Yes, when I consolidated THEIR costs by placing both on the same order, they thanked me by increasing my shipping charge more than four-fold. The other day I was looking at the adverts I had placed on my own Home Page and one of them was for “Buy.com”, the promotional advert in question told me I would get £10.00 off my first purchase, as long as it was above £20.00, so I took an investigative look and seeing as though I needed some CDR’s, I thought I might actually purchase something off the site, so I clicked on the link. Their prices are some of the best on the Internet. ---What do they sell?--- Buy.com stocks computer peripherals, offices supplies, computers, digital cameras, shipping supplies and software. As mentioned above their prices are competitive. Back in the good old days... I remeber them well. The days when you could shop from Buy.com (and Amazon) without paying £5(!) for 'next day' delivery. NEXT DAY. I stress this point. I've ordered from Buy.com on several occasions. You cant beat the prices its true. There website is pretty easy to navigate but the search engine is pretty defunkt. There product range leaves a little to be desired, but for technical things like digital cameras, palms, blank CDRs e.t.c its first rate. But what with delivery added on, it becomes less competitive.
