This company offers nothing more than a credit voucher and wash their hands in their terms and conditions. Stay well clear!
Here's the full story.
My girlfriend gave me a 'Two Night 4-star European City Break' voucher for my birthday. (note: The voucher itself is printed on cheap paper using a cheap inkjet printer).
I activated the voucher on the website and was presented with a list of 'experiences' to chose from. So I chose a two night stay in Rome, clicked the link and was advised to call an Italian number. I think this was a direct line to the hotel. I spoke to someone in the hotel, they had availability and advised me to send an email with my voucher number to confirm booking. Thats what I did.
Next day I prompted them for more information. I received a 3 word email to say the booking was confirmed. No other information. No booking reference. No check in times. Nothing. 3 words. When I asked about travel I was then informed that they knew nothing about flights. The penny dropped. No flights included.
I immediately contacted buyagift.co.uk. I complained that the voucher stated nothing to indicate travel was excluded (despite claiming a 'two night city break' ) and the website only reveals this information if you click on a particular tab which does not appear by default when claiming the voucher.
I asked for the booking to be cancelled and for my voucher to be reinstated. They refused to do this and asked me to contact 'the supplier'. I sent another email to the supplier (still not sure who the supplier is) asking for a cancellation and they informed me that I would need to arrange this with buyagift.com. I nice circular game of pass the buck. The one of reply from buyagift is very much a defensive one and they are keen to quote from their terms and conditions and not keen to provide any useful service or help to resolve the matter. In fact I do wonder what service it is that they actually provide, other than a gift voucher that makes the process of booking a holiday infinitely more complex and frustrating than it would have been otherwise.
So it is now 4 days before my holiday in Rome. Flights are extortionate and effectively rule out the possibility of us getting there. I have two companies denying responsibility for resolving the issue, both apparently unable to issue a cancellation/refund and buyagift.com have been keen to point out that if cancellation policy is not within the terms and conditions of the booking, for example out with the notice period, then it would not be possible to change anything. And yet I cannot resolve anything because all parties are denying responsibility.
If nothing changes in this situation then I will be contacting trading standards. I wanted to share this experience to prevent anyone else falling prey to this company and its complete indifference toward customer care.
Please do yourself a favour do stay away from this company.
For more information, this is an example of the customer service I have received from buyagift.co.uk via email. Not even remotely helpful.
'Buyagift is an agent that provides experiences on behalf of many companies and therefore we do not hold any information regarding your booking. Each individual supplier has their own booking system and therefore any changes to your booking will need to be taken up with the supplier of your experience.
Please note once you have booked your date you are bound by the supplier's Terms and Conditions. To change your booking you must provide adequate notice and if your notice period falls outside of their terms you will not be able to change your booking. We specify in our Terms and Conditions that you should make yourself aware of the supplier's Terms and Conditions at point of making your booking.'
I found out yesterday that the Christmas Gift I bought our son last year(Museum tour to Manchester United) had past its voucher date.I called expecting today's usual negativity in asking if there was any way we could extending the voucher, as my son was so looking forward to visiting The Old Trafford grounds. To my complete surprise the lovely gentlemen on the phone told me it would be no problem and he would send me out a new voucher!I feel I have to take the time to write to you, as in this day and age or 'procedures that have to adhered to' it was a very refreshing to see Customer Services actually being a service to the customer!I will recommend your site to all for there unusual gifts for Christmas!
Ok so buyagift.co.uk sells a wide range of over 3,000 different gifts. The sort of gifts sold here are not just your ordinary ones like body lotion gift set, chocolates or perfume, instead they offer gifts that are just a little bit different like driving experiences, pampering days out, course and workshops, adopt an animal etc.
The website is quite nicely laid out so that you can search through it easily if you aren't sure what you want, but it's also possible to do a search for something more specific which I find fairly helpful when looking for something. The site runs very smooth and everything loads pretty quickly.
When you look at all the items, everything has clear pictures and a fairly good description of what your gift is. There are also details about location for experiences and pampering days etc. so you can work out if there will be somewhere close to where the person you want the gift for lives. I didn't find quite all the information I was looking for the first time I used this site, so I rang their customer service to ask a couple of extra questions, and they were really helpful. The phone was answered nice and quickly, and the woman I spoke to was really helpful and speedily looked up the information I was wanting.
Delivery is mainly by Royal Mail first class post, and costs £1.99, but you can opt for a next day delivery service which costs £7.50. I have to say I've only used the regular delivery so I've no experience of whether the fast one is as fast as it should be or not. The regular first class option was fine for me. Oh, I think flowers and gift hampers may be sent using slightly different methods too, but don't quote me on that as again I've not used that part of the service.
I've always paid by debit card, but I was quite pleased to see that they also accept cheque payments too which means if you don't have a debit card you could still use the site, although I would always prefer it if paypal was an option which it's not here. For me, everything has always gone through smoothly, and I've always received my gift nice and quickly but I know one or two people who've found that things are a bit slow to arrive sometimes especially around Christmas time, so I'd say if you're ordering for Christmas order well in advance. The gift certificates come well packaged with a little gift box that the certificate is in, and overall looks really nice as something to give to someone.
I've not always found this site to be the cheapest, but because they offer a 150% of the difference back if you find the same thing cheaper elsewhere on the net within two weeks, I don't mind if I find somewhere else cheaper because I just contact them, give them the details and they refund me some money. (Actually, I've only ever had to do this once when I found something on lastminute.com cheaper, but they didn't quibble over anything, and the refund went through to my bank account fairly fast too).
Overall I find the site quite easy to use, and the customer service team friendly and easy to talk to. The gifts I've bought there are I think pretty good value, and I'd use the site again happily.
Amazing choice, excellent prices, outstanding customer service!!! The whole shopping process is the best online experience ever! I have purchased a gift from this websites. It was a personalised jewellery box with some writing on it. I found them by Googling and have never heard of them before but decided to try. What an amazing website!!!! Great choice, great prices, their customer service is simply outstanding. I rang twice, phone was answered after 2 rings, spoke to a very helpful customer service advisor about a query, was called back within an hour with the answer. Had to email about an additional service and received a reply within 2 hours. Delivered very fast. I am so happy and would recommend this website to everyone looking for any gifts for any occasion. The website is designed in such a way that I simply enjoyed browsing, well done! They are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grateful and loyal customer Mrs Wilson from North Yorkshire.
Every Christmas there are a couple of people on my list who are just impossible to buy for. Whilst 'googling' for ideas, I came across this site, buyagift. The site has a whole range of experience day gifts, such as days out, pampering days, hotel breaks; the list goes on and on.
It was founded in 1999, and works with 400 suppliers to bring us over 2500 gifts and experiences. Or so the site says.
The site is very easy to use. I particularly like that you are able to search by sex, with the 'Gifts for Her' 'Gifts for Him' links, and also you can search by price. For example if you don't want to spend over £25 you can just look for things under this price rather than having to scan through them all.
Whilst browsing I discovered the perfect gifts, I don't want to go into too much detail because you never know who is reading. Ordering was easy, and I received a confirmation email immediately.
Now comes to the customer service, a subject I have mixed feelings on.
As soon as I ordered, I realised you were able to see a copy of the gift voucher you will be sent. The gift vouchers have '2 for 1' plastered all over them. I emailed asking if there was any possibility I could be sent another voucher. I was sent quite an abrupt reply, basically saying no, you should have looked earlier. I replied saying is there no way round this, it is for a present and I know other sites do this (lastminute.com). I received no reply. This was totally my own fault, the vouchers were there to see before order but I just missed them. Luckily the vouchers are for close family, but I wouldn't really be happy giving them to anybody else.
Later on, I found one of the items I had ordered slightly cheaper on another site. I emailed buyagift regarding their 150% guarantee. They replied offering me a voucher to use towards my purchase, when I explained I had actually already made the purchase they offered me a refund of the difference, plus 50%. This was on Saturday and the refund had made it to my account today. The price of the experience I purchased still remains the same on buyagift though, double the price of exactly the same purchase on lastminute.com, so make sure you shop around.
I ordered the gift vouchers one week ago, and have still not received them, despite paying for 1st class delivery. Whether this is a problem with buyagift taking forever to dispatch, or a royal mail problem, who knows, but I am not very impressed as I need to get them sent off.
Overall, the site initially seemed brilliant, full of gifts for people who have everything. However, my experience with customer services has been mixed. I've had contact with three representatives so far, one been completely useless and not bothering to return emails, one been fantastic in sorting the refund quickly, and the other in response to the delay in receiving, basically telling me to wait my turn.
I don't think I would buy from them again, not when there are other sites around offering similar gifts at cheaper prices.
I will update this, when (if??) I ever receive the gift vouchers.
So, I am back to add the finishing touches to my review.
When I wrote the review I had not received the vouchers, I am pleased to say they finally arrived this morning, 12 days after ordering!
I emailed them last Thursday to say they had not arrived, and got a reply asking me to wait until Saturday and then get back to them if there was still not sign. I did this, and received an abrupt reply from one of the team, telling me they would send out the vouchers again today.
Luckily the first lot have turned up. I am pretty impressed with the packaging, I was expecting literally a voucher (I had even already bought cards to put these in!) so for them to turn up in a nice little display box was a lovely surprise. Oh, and they didn't have '2 for 1' on them as I was told they would be an advisor.
Overall, I've mixed opinions of the site. I have dealt with a few members of the team now, some have been helpful and others not at all. 12 days for the order to arrive when I paid for 1st class post is completely unacceptable. It won't be my first choice to order from in the future, but I won't totally dismiss the idea of using it.
When it comes to Christmas and birthdays, I like to get people something different. I'm not the kind of person who gives cd's, dvd's or smellies to grandma. I like to find things that they will open and say "wow, I never would have thought of that".
In the past I have used sites like Redletterdays but this year I decided to venture away from them and came across buyagift.co.uk.
The website is very easy to use and easy to understand. Along the top are several menus you can choose - gifts for him, gifts for her, gifts for kids etc. Then below that there are pampering days, days out, adrenaline etc.
When you click on one of these menus it brings up a selection of experiences you can buy.
This year I decided to get my mother in law a garden lunch at Swinton park for 2 people. At £75 I didn't think this was a bad price at all.
When going through the checkout I chose the presentation box and have not been disappointed! It arrived today, which considering I ordered it on Wednesday was fantastic (today is Friday). It is well packaged, and the presentation box looks very slick. The voucher inside has my personal message typed out, and there is information inside about the experience I have bought them.
I will definitely be using this site again for further purchase as I have found their range of experiences to be fantastic. Possibly car racing next time? Or a pamper day....?
I've been really impressed with buyagift.Excellent range of products, best prices for these (beats similar websites such as Virgin .etc) and there's plenty of discount codes around on the web.Item arrived the day after I ordered, using standard postage. Gift tin arrived with a dent (from Post Office mishandling - packaging should have been adequate). I sent an email asking for a replacement tin. Buyagift got back to me the same day and dispatched a new one, for free, the same day.Replacement tin arrived the next day.Excellent company, excellent prices, excellent turn around and excellent customer service.Excellent!Andy Wilton
This year was my first wedding anniversary and I needed to get my husband something to remember our special day with and came up with the idea of getting him an experience to remember.
*~*Who are buyagift.com*~*
buyagift.com is an online website that offers unique experiences at competitive prices.
At present the company offers over 2200 experiences for people of all ages.
Founded back in 1999, they are now the leading UK gift specialist.
For £65 I bought my husband the Aston Martin Experience as this is his dream car and having heard him do nothing but go on about them I decided this had to be an experience of a lifetime.
I went online and selected the driving experiencesto establish which option would be best for him and decided upon the Aston Martin Experience which offered him the opportunity to drive 3 laps in the Aston Martin Vantage. The standard price for this was £99 but it was on offer for £75 and available at a variety of locations.
I selected that item and decided to add the voucher gift pack for him which meant the voucher would be personalised with a lanyard, keyring, activity information sheet, gift tin and presentation box, this was an additional £4.95.
First class delivery was an additional £1.95 which I opted for as I was in no real hurry for the delivery of the item and begrudged the idea of paying £7.95 for special delivery!
Once I had added the item to my basket I scoured the internet for an offer code and managed to get a further 10% discount of my order and placed the order with my debit card.
Within seconds I received an email confirmation of my order and was advised that the item would be delivered within the next 48 hours to my specified address.
I am pleased to say that the item arrived within 24 hours and was discreetly packaged so my husband had no idea what it was.
*~*The Booking Process*~*
I am pleased to say that the booking process was relatively simple, I decided to try and book the experience for our wedding anniversary and incorporate it with a night away however this was not to be. I hadn't realised that I had purchased a midweek voucher and for the weekend it would be an additional £25 which then put the offer back up to £100 which was the original price.
I contacted the venue to try and arrange a date but unfortunately it was fully booked as I was trying to book for a month in advance which was a little too late, so I decided to leave the date open for my husband to book when he preferred as it meant driving 2 hours away from where we lived.
On our anniversary I presented the item to my husband who was really excited and looked forward to booking the experience, eventually we decided on a date 2 months later midweek. I called the venue and advised of the experience I had purchased and was advised of the dates on which this experience operated and the times currently available.
I selected the date and confirmed this back to the admin staff, they advised me that once the date was booked it could not be changed and I was advised to quote the buyagift code to activate the experience.
I was then required to provide a contact address and telephone number along with an email address as the booking details would be emailed to that email address and it would need to be printed and presented on the day of the experience or you would not be able to partake in the experience.
The email was sent within a few minutes of me making the telephone call and the date and time was confirmed on the email for verification purposes.
This was the very first time I have booked an experience and found the process so simple and easy to follow and very competitively priced.
I would definately use buyagift again as it offers a reliable and efficient service and included in my package was a buyagift gift card offering me £5 of every following order with no expiry date which I think was an excellent reward to entice you into booking with them again as well as a 10% discount voucher valid for well over 12 months.
It's that time of year again, where you are thinking about what to buy certain members of your family, Some people are so hard to buy for, and whenever Christmas approaches I try and get my family and friends some decent presents, As socks, and smellies is boring and predictable.
***About the site***
www.buyagift.co.uk is a fantastic site offering something for everyone, They provide something different, gift experiences so your loved one can drive an Aston Martin (something most of us never get chance to do) or maybe a spa day. They have a huge choice of experiences and they are placed in sub categories such as Driving, Flying, and Pampering Etc so it's really very easy to navigate around the site and find what you are looking for.
You can spend a small fortune buying these gift experiences but they do have something for everyone's budget, Under the "Unique" Gifts section you can find stocking fillers priced £10-30 and these include things such as Bunging jumping for £29, Indoor Sky Diving and Makeovers for Mothers and Daughters. They really do have a wide range and choice for all people and budgets. Although I don't think anyone would be too happy if I bought them a Bungee Jumping experience, although to see the look on their face would be hilarious!
The site is very fast loading, and easy to use, you just select the experience you want to buy, add it to your basket and check out, Make sure that you check the locations of where the experiences are to be held as you dont want to be booking something that is only done in London when you are living in Scotland as the chances are the recipant wil spend alot of money having to do the experience in the first place, and they probably will never use it.
When you buy the gift experience you have the option of paying £4.50 for a gift pack which is very attractive including a Metal Tin, Personalised Voucher, Information Sheet and Key ring. It does look and feel very nice but it is also £4.50. I think if you are buying a very expensive experience it's worth it but for the smaller priced experiences maybe get a nice little gift card or make something yourself if you have a bit of a creative side.
Once you have checked out you have the option of selecting which way you would like your gift to be sent to you , first class is £1.95 and that is the same price if you buy one or two, also including the tins so it's not too bad. You also have the option of paying £7.50 for next guaranteed delivery or paying £4.95 for a courier. I just tend to go for standard royal mail as never had a problem with receiving as yet. Although there is a postal strike on at the moment so I guess with it coming up close to Christmas it's a wise idea to get things delivered via other methods.
I have purchased 2 experiences, one for myself and a friend which was a makeover day with New Id studios in Manchester, it included a haircut, makeover, nails and then a photo shoot and you also got a A4 Print at the end it was meant to be £100 for 2 people but I got it in the sale for £19 Each! This is an excellent present as it's a full day out and you get your hair cut. The voucher is also valid for 10 months, me and my friend actually did our experience last Saturday and it was brilliant would definitely do it again. They even extended our voucher when we called up to book. They charge a fortune for the photos afterwards, for example 48 pictures were £3,000. But this is for another review all together. I spent £75 on pictures and my friend spent £25. Which is pretty good going as we were so tempted to buy loads of them.
It was really very easy to arrange the booking of the experience. When you get your voucher you get a number on it to call and arrange it. It lots of circumstances you have to put a deposit down of £50. They say this is because you might not show up, but it is more of the case of you get sold too when you get to your experience with pictures and merchandise.
The second Experience was for my dad it was an Aston Martin Driving day, The price was originally £99 but I got an offer of £57 so me and my mum paid half each and got it for him last Christmas, We went a few months later down to Leicester. It was just for him to drive so I had to sit and watch but there was also the option of when I was there that I could drive the cars too. They do advise you though to pay £20 for the insurance so bare this in mind. If you don't pay the £20 and crash or damage their car while driving it you are liable. You can also purchase extra laps. You could also pay £25 for a picture which was a bit of a rip off, I bought my camera with me and ordered a nice size print off the internet and it looked just as good if not better. But again this experience is for another review all together. But to just give you a basic idea.
I think I got great bargains considering the normal price of these experiences.
If you are looking to save more money, put this code into the checkout to get 10% off 678678 it is valid till 31.1.2010. Not sure if it works so let me know if it does.
Brilliant all round site, Reliable and Trustworthy.
Well I must say that I have been using Buyagift.com for more than two years and it is the source for most of my Christmas gifts.
I find that their vouchers nearly always arrive ahead of time and the only complaint I have with the way they arrive is the masses of paper coupons and such that come with it. They also look like junk mail when they arrive which can sometimes be useful if you are concealing a gift from a loved one.
Their gift experiences and tangible items vary between charity based, extreme, pampering, girls stuff, boys stuff etc. I have tried the cookery days, the jewellary making workshops, the name a star, the pamper days, the bungee, the charity, their Very Good gift, wine, chocolates, balloons, cakes, Teepee experience, gardening equipment and plants (including some lovely trees) and many many more items I have forgotten.
I have heard from many of my friends and relatives who have done these experiences and thoroughly enjoyed them! Others who I have bought a Buyagift Voucher for have said they found the customer service department to be very customer focused and efficient (always remembering to call customers back) and on the few occasions that I/they have requested an exchange, extension or refund I have found them to be more than helpful and thorough in their endeavor to resolve our issues.
I can recommend them completely as if you can keep your cool with the customer service team and treat them with the respect you expect them to treat you with, they can be really pro-active and seem to bend over backwards for you.
My favourite part of their site that I must recommend is the charity section which has pages and pages of experiences for Oxfam charity donations such as 'build a well' or 'build a school' things like that. Having researched into this I have found out that Buyagift incur all the marketing expenses without taking any of the profit, the full amount goes to the charity. I can only commend this.
Received a buyagift gift voucher for my birthday, which unfortunately expired 9 months after receiving present - the first problem with the buyagift concept.
It seems Buyagift are unwilling to renew my expired voucher without me posting the old one back to them, upon which "somebody" will decide my fate. Hardly inspiring or confidence filling. Apparently I could of extended the life of this voucher for a mere £20, such was the favour they are willing to offer me, if I'd contacted them and paid them before my voucher expired.
The staff are bullish and I would guess only interested in making money or meeting bonus. In all I felt any atempt by buyagift to help my problem was an attempt to placate my annoyance in the eventuality that I would go away.
If you want any ideas for presents in the future please DO NOT go for the buyagift experience - use the old fashioned type vouchers that dont run out of date -- CASH!! Unless you fancy dealing with a company who's customer service is more reminiscient of Fat Harry's Used Car Emporium.
I bought a Be a Firefighter for a Day gift for my husband as an unusual 40th Birthday present. Unfortunately after numerous unsuccessful calls to arrange a day, we contacted BuyaGift who informed us that they couldn't go ahead with the experience because of insurance purposes! I never realised that this would be so much more dangerous than skydiving!
Anyhow, they told us to look for an alternative experience or they would refund the cost of the voucher. We decided to take the money and spend it elsewhere. The cheque arrived within the week however I was rather frustrated that I not only lost out on the postage costs but I had also bought the presentation gift tin as well.
I feel that BuyaGift still made money out of me.
I was given a voucher Buyagift.com voucher for tea at Harrods for two for my 30th birthday last year from my Grandma. Unfortunately the voucher expired before I got to use it - I thought that I had lost the voucher as my bag was stolen, and I thought the voucher was in it. However when I moved house in December the voucher appeared. I was delighted to have it back but disappointed when realised it had just expired. I called the customer service team and explained my situation - they said that there was nothing that they could do? Their website states you can extend the voucher for 10 months for an admin charge of £20 I said that I was happy to pay this charge, but they said I couldn't do this as it had already expired. The man I spoke to was EXTEMELY unhelpful and RUDE, and his manager that I subsequently emailed was not much better! The level of customer service I received was VERY POOR- my Grandma who is on a pension paid £55 for the voucher, and I do not believe that there was nothing they could do to extend it!
After looking around various shops and shopping centres I decided that I would come back home to the internet to try and find my Dad something different this Christmas. Every year its the same things for Christmas for him, aftershave shaving stuff etc. But I thought this year I would try and find something different.
After searching through my ISP homepage of Wanadoo I came across the Christmas channel on Wanadoo where they gave you ideas for Christmas. But apart from the normal presents they give you links to other websites where you might find the gift you are looking for. This is how I came across www.buyagift.co.uk.
To begin with I was not overly impressed but after spending 15 minutes or so looking through the site I was able to find my Dad something that could be part of his Christmas. It was the opportunity to send someone a share in their favourite football club. For all those that have read my last review, you will all know that I am a Spurs fan, well it turns out so is my Dad! So to go with his presents for this year he will be getting a share in Tottenham Hotspur and for the small price of £29.00.
For this price the person gets a complete gift pack including the certificate which they send off to get their share certificate. Also contains loads of information about this wonderful club, a presentation certificate and shareholder information. You can also add a message to the pack which is typed for you on a A4 piece of paper as you can actually choose to have the gift delivered direct to the person although I have had mine sent to me so I can wrap it. But this will be a gift he had never thought off but I know will like.
The actual website is very well laid out and easy to find the type of gift you are looking for. Originally there was not a massive selection to choose from but as time goes on the site just gets bigger and bigger. To find the product you want you can first of all search for gifts for her, him or kids just by clicking the button at the top of the page. From here you can to click on further selection options which narrow down the search results. These range from Ferrari Days to Flying Days from Adrenalin Zone to Something Unique or even Traditional Gifts.
Obviously these selection options vary depending on the person that you are looking for a present for. Alternatively instead of choosing to search by selecting the: him or her or kids options you can click the other buttons that they have at the top to choose presents from. This list includes: Driving, Flying, Relaxing, Wet n Wild, Ultimate Gifts, Adrenalin Zone, Other Activities and Traditional Gifts as well as Best Sellers, New Additions and Hot Deals.
So as I think you can see there is now loads of gift ideas you can choose from be it birthday, Christmas or other gifts you may be looking for. Once you have decided what present / gift it is that you are going to buy you add it to your basket. Once you confirm you wish to make the purchase you next get the opportunity to add your personal message to the gift before being taken to the payment part of the site. At this point you can choose to pay for your purchase by Debit or Credit card where everything is processed via their secure server.
Once you have placed your order the item is shipped first class direct to either you or the person that you are making the purchase for. The gift is in the form of a personalised voucher for them to go and take up to gift you have sent them. For example if you have bought someone a golf day, then they take the voucher to one of the participating Marriot Golf Clubs and will receive their golf day and everything else that comes as part of the gift. The only concern I had is that the voucher was just sent normal first class post not even recorded so no-one has to sign for the delivery. In fact I ended up going to collect my from Royal Mail but only because when they tried to deliver nobody was at home and it would not fit through the post box!
Although the delivery is only sent through first class post they actually send it out the minute that you place the order so place it early enough in the day and they actually guarantee next day delivery. I must admit mine took two days but then I did place my order at something like 9pm one evening so even that it quite quick.
Once the voucher has been sent they do not have to be used straight away they actually have a period of 10 months in which they can be exchanged for what ever the gift is you have purchased. This can be particularly useful if the gift you have ordered is for an outdoor activity and you are giving it as a Christmas present as you can wait for the summer to come before going to do the activity.
As most people that purchase from this purchase these items as gifts for someone and not for them selves you have the opportunity to upgrade your purchase. What this means is that you can have the product delivered is a gift pack as well. For the option they charge £9.50. For this price you get their personalised voucher, a lanyard to wear on the day, Photo Key Ring, Hi Power LED Torch and a Buyagift Executive Pen. So not really a bad price I suppose for the extra that you get.
For the gifts and products that they offer I found that they are reasonably priced as well in fact for some of the prices I checked with other places I found they were the cheapest for things such as Ferrari Days, Golf Days and even things such as those relaxing days. So if you are looking for that special gift or just something a little different then it is definitely worth paying this site a visit.
Some of the prices that they charge to give you an idea:
Ferrari and Lamborghini Experience £249
Helicopter Flight Experience £154
Health Spa Experience £99
Learn How to Play Golf with Marriot £75
Ice Climbing for two £99
6 Bottles of Champagne £99
Once the voucher arrives it will also contain booking information on how to actually book the experience and will also contain information on what sort of clothing you will need to where etc. Especially the outdoor activities. Although not sure if those dodgy golf jumpers are essential for the golf days. I have to say I would definitely be looking at this site again in a few months as it will be my Dads 50th birthday so that definitely calls for something different I think.
When you visit the site for the first time do not worry if you are not sure about what you are doing as at the very bottom of the home page is various links that you might like to view. Home, FAQs, How Does It Work?, Contacting Us, Affiliates, Latest News, About Us and View Basket. So as you will see you are never far away from any help. From the homepage you also now get the opportunity to sign up to their fortnightly newsletter which gives you the chance to win vouchers up to £500 as well keeping you informed of the latest additions to the site etc.

Let me talk you through what it is exactly that they sell…… Do you like Ferraris? or maybe a Lamborghini? BMWs, Porsche, Audi TT? Lotus Elise or Corvettes?….the list goes on! If you feel frustrated with the average 40mph national speed limit, chose one of these gifts and you can experience the top class and performance of any supercar on one of the Uks well known race circuits, including Silverstone! Maybe you fancy a tantalising experience of wingwalking, maybe you would like to fly your own aircraf
t – like a vintage aircraft or aerobatics, maybe in a ex-military plane. Or you might prefer the relaxing breathing taking views from the basket of a hot air balloon. Not keen on speeds or heights? Then how about a day of relaxation of either pampering including full body massage and makeovers, spa breaks to a simple cookery lesson! Here’s for those Adrenalin junkie – go bungee jumping, or throw yourself from a plan up to 10,000 ft from the Earth! Firefighting for a day? Exploring underwater volcanoes? Hey – ever wanted to see the Titanic for real?! Trust me - Whatever tickles your fancy, you can guarantee this shopping website will have it for you…!! Dancing!, singing! – and run down the worst singers in a monster truck or army tank!! EVERYTHING! (Ok maybe not the running someone down, but you can drive these!!) Heres for the prices…… I personally was utterly impressed with the prices. I have only once used buyagift to purchase a gift for my Fiance but on this I couldn’t believe the savings I made!! They promise you that if you buy and find your gift cheaper anywhere else then they will refund you a full 120% of the purchase price!! (Within 14 days of purchasing) I found the Ferrari thrill gift and I scoured the page 3 times a day for a week before realising it really was £99 to buy the voucher to drive the Italion Stallion. Having spent three years, yes THREE years wanting to be able to afford to do this for him, having only being able to find it for around £235 +, I didn’t hesitate in arranging to buy it. But first I did my research. The gift stated the experience would take place on the famous Bruntingthorpe proving grounds where top manufacturers test there cars and Jeremy Clarkson films for Top Gear! To confirm the cheap price, I rang up the Circuit myself and spoke to a rather r
ude and snotty lady about the deal and she stated it would cost me £220 and there was no way I could possibly buy it anywhere else cheaper – she told me “The gift you found online is not for this circuit - they have got it wrong” So I immediately rang up Buyagift using the ‘Contact us’ link on their website and spoke to a very friendly, cheerful and happy man who was astounded to hear the information I had given, and trustingly assured me it was the correct circuit. That same afternoon at 3:30pm I bought the gift online. It took all of 3 minutes, was quick, fast and secure. I received two confirmation emails straight away, one thanking me and the other a detailed receipt of payment assuring I could expect the purchase on my doorstep the following day (not considering for any postage delays) And I have had no problems using my debit card with them. There was NO additional charges or postage – it was all included in the price! That following morning – 1st post and very early – SLAP. On the door mat! Now how quick was that!!? A great big envelope oozing with detailed leaflets, discounts, thank you letter, mouse mat, stickers and a shiny gold unsealed envelope with the gift voucher neatly enclosed inside, ready for me to check and seal myself. On a thick hammered effect paper, printed in colour and printed with the personal message I requested, I squeeled with excitement knowing the look my partners face would look like when he sees the gift voucher. On looking through their site, there are very many different prices depending on what gift you go for. The Ferrari thrill I chose was the cheapest – but they do go up to around £400 depending on what else you want to do and drive. Take the cost of proposing to someone on a banner attached to a light aircraft - £800!! (Note to blokes - I’d prefer a night at the Ritz and a din
ner proposal) Or how about an ‘edge of space, 80000 ft above Earth’ flight in a MiG-25PU jet for £9450!! “What!” I hear you cry!! Bet you’ll find this cheaper than going through the RAF directly! Fly a fighter jet yourself for £2450. Ok, lets key it down to something more reasonable… You and 7 friends for a day out Paintballing - £35, (£9 per person for deposit on booking the date. Still bloody good!) Bungee jump - £54 2 day parachute course - £145 Health spa day – from £49 (London) -£105 (Champneys tring) Traditional ideas include Flowers, helium balloons, Hampers, Wine cases and Champagne and buying a plot on Mars or Venus (For reminding your partner of his or her roots!) or maybe the moon or a star! To buy your gift online….. Click on the gift you want and it gives you a full indepth write up of what you can expect from the experience/day. Information includes the agenda, location and additional notes. In the top right corner is a button to buy now. Click and you will get an order page requesting quantity, what it is and its price, and total price of your basket. Postage is included unless you select signed delivery of £7.50. It also gives you an option to add a personal message if you wish (I did and there is no additional cost and it makes the gift more personal for the receiver) If you don’t then when you continue it double checks with you with a Windows information popup screen, asking if you want to continue without adding a message. Select to buy online (or you can phone - You will speak to a friendly operater which can give you any free help or advice for people with enquires.) Fill in you address details and whether you want the gift to be delivered to another address (ie. The gift receiver) There are terms and conditions and mailing list options provided.
When you have filled in your details you select to order and you are put through to a separate window with secure online booking guaratees. Here you will enter your credit/debit card information and confirm all details. Your gift will arrive the following morning. I chose to have it sent to myself. Whether you chose to leave the next step for the gift receiver or not - you are instructed on the gift voucher to call a number to book (choose a date) for the experience with a 10 months validation period. I had to call Drivers dreams and the lady was fantastic and funny on the phone. She asked when I would like to do it, giving me an option of days. The circuit was closed for Winter but I got in on the first opening date with a choice of morning or afternoon. Having received a confirmation letter of booking a date, they sent me full directions for every possible route and I didn’t need to do anything else until the day. We were given telephone contacts with the route and we used this number to find out the weather conditions. I was informed “We are expecting you, everything is running as planned” We turned up and the day went well. It was organised and they had my partners details and information ready at hand. And what an experience for us both to remember! The site is colourful and easy to use. They also include links leading to their FAQs, How the site works, Contact links, Affiliates (and info on joining the team), Latest news (Current display is for Mothers day), about us (terms and conditions and voucher samples, etc) and your basket (Vouchers you have ordered). The homepage displays award acknowledgments, (click the logos to verify), for top 10 site used and BT trust services secure site. Buy a gift…go on. Have fun.
