I first used the Cath Kidston website about 2 weeks ago now. My Mum had mentioned she liked her designs so I decided to have a look on the site and see if I could find something for both Mothers day and her birthday which is coming up. In the end me and my sister ended up ordering numerous things from the site!


*Who is Cath Kidston?*

Cath Kidston founded her company in 1993. She initially opened a small shop in London selling vintage fabrics and junk furniture. Soon, her shabby chic style meant the shop became a huge success and she expanded. She soon began to design her own prints and these are world famous. Currently she has 38 shops in the UK and also the website cathkidston.co.uk

The website offers a vast range of products including bags, fabrics, phone cases, accessories, clothing and things for the home.


*The Homepage*

The homepage is very inviting. At the top there is a large recognisable Cath Kidston logo and the two sides of the webpage are a flower print pattern which gives any visitors a quick flavour of Cath's tastes. Under the logo there are a few links to navigate around the website including 'What's New', 'Accessories', 'Bags', 'Clothing', 'Home', 'Fabric' and 'Kids'. There is also a search bar, a store finder and the opportunity to request a magazine. The middle of the page has large pictures of some of their products, currently there is a feature regarding Mothers Day.


*Using the website*

I found using the website very easy. I knew what I was looking for when I initially visited the site so I simply typed it in the search bar on the home page. I found the search bar to be really useful and it found exactly what I was looking for.

I then decided to browse the website to see if there was anything else on the site I would like, either for myself or my Mum! I found the site really easy to navigate. I knew that I wanted to look at the bags and I found these easily. I also had a look at the sale items and again I found it easy to look at these products.

When you find an item you would like it is very simple to add it to your basket. Each item has a good description including information such as what it is made of and how large it is. There are also customer reviews which I found really helpful when making decisions on what to buy. There are both positive and negative reviews on the site and its nice to know that Cath Kidston dont remove the negative comments like some companies do! Any reviews that are quite negative have received a personal response from Cath Kidston Ltd trying to sort out the problem.


*Buying*

To buy items from the website it is simple, you do have to register but this only takes a few moments. You can pay by credit or debit card and this is a secure process.


*Delivery*

Standard Delivery costs £4.95 but it is free if you spend over £75. As me and my sister spent over £100 we got it for free. They aim to deliver your items within 5 working days but do say to allow up to 10 days. We placed our order on a Tuesday afternoon and it was delivered on the Friday morning so very speedy service! They do post overseas, see website for details.


*Returns*

They do accept returns but we did not need to return anything as we were very pleased with our products. Fabric which is cut to size cannot be returned.


*Customer Service*

We did not need to contact customer service as everything with our order was perfect but if you did need to contact them there is a phone number and email address on their site.


*Gift Vouchers*

Gift vouchers are now available which I think is great as often you know people like the designer but are unsure what to buy, these are available for £10-£50. These can be used in store or via mail order but NOT online.


*Our Order*

We were really impressed with our order when it turned up. It had arrived very quickly and was packaged beautifully. Some of the more delicate items were individually wrapped in beautifully patterned wrapping.
