A devastating e-mail arrived in my inbox today. I?m sure many of you have used CD-Wow over the past few years to buy cds. I?ve bought more CD?s than I used to purely because this was a site offering CD?s at a more than realistic price. For years now we?ve known that in the UK we pay inflated prices for music when the production costs to the record companies themselves are lean. I have been using CD-WOW for some time now and can highly recommend them. Although the site isnt the most organised, it is easy to use and does exactly what it should. They often run very good deals in their bargain basement section. Most DVD's are cheaper if you pre-order them. Delivery is always quick, even though the discs come from Hong Kong, and on pre-releases, you will often find the title you ordered will arrive a few days before the official release date. However, in this very competative market it always pays to shop around. UPDATED SECTION: In the time since I wrote the original version of this review, CD Wow has gone from strength to strength. At that time they simply offered CDs and DVDs - now there are games, DVD rentals, electrical equipment like digital cameras, and lots more. The prices on everything are excellent with further lowering of many prices. Some chart CDs and new releases are now available at only £6.99 and prices are still very affordable all round. Delivery times continue to be very quick, although I've still never had quite such a quick turnaround as the MASH DVD referred to in the previous review. DVDs are probably my most bought item on the internet, and while cd-wow offers great prices on games and CDs their prices on DVDs, and the selection they now offer, really is second to none. From modest beginnings, cd-wow's collection of DVDs has grown into a comprehensive library of titles. While the site used to offer only a few reasonably priced titles and could not guarantee region 2 compatibility it now offers two well stocked categories (region 2 & multi-region) to choose from. I came across CD-wow, about six months ago, and I have to admit it did look like a very professional web site. So I gave it a go, I went on and purchased a friends DVD for £5.99, I just could not believe how cheap it was, there had to be a mistake. To my surprise, the postman was knocking at my door with my brand new DVD in his hand. So far so good I thought, and tried it in the DVD player it worked perfectly.
