Advantages: Easy to use website, fast order processing
Disadvantages: None
Chain Reaction Cycles sell a whole range of goodies. Everything from complete bikes, to frames, tyres, helmets, chains, brakes, gloves, just so so much. All of this is available on a very easy to navigate website. The ordering process is very simple too. It is also worth noting that you can pay by all the major credit and debit cards, but also with PayPal, which a lot of people use nowadays, myself included.
I have used this company for two orders now and found them to be very competitive on price. For example, some Altura CoolMax Boxer shorts, were just £12.99, which was £2 cheaper than the next company. Their prices also include free UK delivery, which I think is pretty decent, considering they are cheaper already.
On the speed front I have found them to be great. An automatic email confirming my order within minutes. My first order was dispatched same day (with email confirmation) and arrived the next. My second order went out within 24 hours and took two days to arrive. They were both well packaged and I was left a happy shopper.
The other reviewers comment on here about lack of response and this subject in general. To give you an example, I get over 200 emails a day and only respond to the ones that warrant it. Some of these large online retailers, who maybe do 1,000 orders a day, can get so so many emails that missing one is a foregone conclusion. It is not an excuse and often people come away thinking that the company does not want their business... I have had the same impression with some companies too. What I am trying to say is, unless you need something in a hurry, give them two chances to respond, then make your judgement.
Anyway, on a more positive note, based on my experience, you really should check out Chain Reaction Cycles.
Summary: Based on my experience, you really should check out Chain Reaction Cycles

- 29/11/08 That's an interesting comment about the emails. I've been consulting on a project for a (non-commercial) web application which has had a few issues BUT has seen a hyge amount of positive interest as I agreed that the client would resource to deal with 100% of emails within 24 hours (and that's between 200 and 500 per day). It REALLY pays dividends - and there are no excuses not to do this, particularly when you compare the costs and customer time wasted with snail mail. |
