choicesdirect.co.ukNewest Review: ... new releases featured, a chart of top sellers and various links to special offers currently running. I decided to give the site a whirl by ordering a copy of Man On Fire on DVD. A quick search brought up product information with pictures in a format that was easy to digest. The DVD was on special offer at £7.99 all in, having looked around this certainly was a good deal taking into account ... more |

Online shopping can be great but it can also be a drag at times. I’m not a big fan of sites that charge extra for postage and packaging. You find yourself looking at a price which seems good but then it creeps up as £4 is added to send something that probably costs under half that to send. Thankfully Choices Direct are an online store that offer all their products with free delivery. So the price you see is the price you pay regardless of whether the thing you’re after is a couple of quid or over £100. The sites primary business is DVD’s videos and games. When you first access the site you are greeted by a vibrant layout that doesn’t look cluttered. ... Read the complete review

I have used a number of online dvd/ cd sites, such as Amazon and Play and Choices Direct is similar to both of these. I have used Choices to buy a number of boxsets etc as they seem cheaper than Play and definately cheaper than Amazon. The items have always arrived quickly - which i think is good for free delivery - although i have only ordered items that are in stock. Just make a note of how long it usually takes to dispatch items - this may be anything over 24 hours. I am surprised Choices don't sell CD's, however their range of DVD's is very good - my partner likes crap horror films and they seem to stock quite a few of those! ... Read the complete review

Online shopping is a bit of a minefield as there are now quite a few companies competing for your business with some great deals, with DVD's I've learnt that it's probably best to now wait until a few months after a movies release as you're bound to pick it up for around half the price online. Looking at some of the opinions on Choicesdirect.co.uk at this site you'd think they weren't worth your time. Well that may have been the case but it would appear that they've improved dramtically. A few months ago the site had put the Angel Season 3 DVD boxset on sale at £27.99. This is a 6 Disc set which normally has an RRP of £79.99 with the ... Read the complete review

It was an easy enough request from someone- "Please can you get me the video of Fried Green Tomatoes..." for Xmas. Hmmm - I spent literally hours searching for this video on Amazon, BOL, Blackstar, WH Smith, HMV etc. etc. and endless hours on google looking for sites that sold it only to be told it was now discontinued and would be released the next year. All the US sites didn’t have PAL compatible versions. Then I stumbled across Choices Direct and they had the video for the mere sum of £6.47 (all the US sites that had it wanted £15+). So I ordered it (in November 00) – and ok it was late by about 6 weeks but I would not have got it ... Read the complete review

As I've alluded to before, I spend far too much of my money on CD's and DVD's (and PS2 games for that matter)... and working in the .com industry I'm actively looking around for good shopping partners and alternatives to my own traditional online shopping outlets. Attracted by the price I decided to give Choices Direct a whirl. I was attempting to order the rather excellent film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". In fact, I was quick off the mark and was actually pre-ordering it... giving them plenty of time to get it right. Anyway, the release date came and I heard nothing. I started seeing the DVD everywhere I went, but ... Read the complete review
