Avoid using Comet Clearance at all costs! I recently decided to purchase a widescreen television from them and am currently in the process of trying to cancel the order. First of all, after reading the website's front page I was under the impression that the only difference between a clearance item and a retail item is the condition of the item. However, the item I ordered did not include a remote and to purchase a replacement one would cost £49.99. My fault for not reading the product condition report first (although the product information did mention a remote control which was misleading). I was eventually told to wait 3 weeks for delivery and was overcharged by more than 100% of the item's price!

Anyway, I email both Comet and Comet Clearance but received no reply. I then called Comet and they told me to call 0141 336 5970. After calling several times, a lady eventually picked up. I have never spoken to anyone so rude and unhelpful in my life! She would interrupt my sentences so that I could not fully explain the situation and then she hung up on me. I tried calling back but with no success. I called Comet again and they instructed me to call their customer services line which I did. Again, I found myself speaking to someone completely unbothered about my situation - she simply requested the correct department to call me back.

Summary: Avoid at all costs!
