Disadvantages: Poor Service Centre, No Direct Numbers, Do No Return Calls etc

We bought our tumble dryer from Comet back in March 2005 and since then it has managed to break down, stop heating and made very loud screeching noises on 6 different occasions. After persistently trying to get them to replace the obviously faulty product, they refused stating 'unless the serviceman deems it either unrepairable or it costs to much to replace it then we won't give replacement product' obviously the hassle/time it was causing us didn't matter, because it was infact supposidly still repairable even after 6 visits (not including the time the person came out to fix it after ordering the parts).

My partner and I both work full time and had to basically manage our lives around getting this tumble dryer fixed and can honestly say it was broken more often than fixed in the 8 months we have had it.

They have finally agreed that we can either have a refund or replacement to the value of the tumble dryer. I received a Code and took this code to my nearest store as advised by the Service Centre but was then told that they could find no trace of me and they couldn't give any exhange/refund there and advised me to call the service centre again! I have now been trying to get through to the service centre in Coatbridge for the last few days and I am waiting for them to call me back and lets just say I doubt it will be any time soon judging by previous experiences.

I can honestly say I shall not be shopping with Comet again, its seems ridiculous they don't have any individual telephone numbers for service centres as everytime I call them I have to go through the main number where they always tell me 'Oh you have came thought to the wrong department' considering there is only one number its very hard not to do.

I have now decided that once I eventually get through to the service centre I shall be asking for a refund and will buy a tumble dryer else where. I feel this has been an incredible waste of my time and only registered here so I could voice my complaint to nation!

Summary: Faulty Tumble Dryer within Guarantee took very long time to replace

I would normally take this opportunity to explain my low rating and offer advice about improving a review. But on this occasion you've made it pretty clear that your whole intention of joining dooyoo and posting this review is just to air your rant....so I won't bother!
