Disadvantages: Expensive appliance that works for less than 3 years

We bought a large American style Samsung fridge freezer 33 months ago from Comet. It was advertised as originally £900 with a £300 subsidy from British Gas- stating "it pays to be energy efficient". Expecting at least 5 years service from this appliance(The last fridge lasted 10 years) we were amazed when it stopped working spoiling £200 of food. I contacted Comet who have told me that they will not repair it because we have had 33 months of use. So if you are expecting an appliance from Comet to last forget it. So much for "paying to be efficient".As the Sales of Goods(1979) act states the goods must last for a reasonable amount of time. Less than 3 years is not reasonable and neither is Comet.Shop elsewhere
