Advantages: Great promises

Disadvantages: Promises not upheld. Patchy service

To be fair, initial service was good. However, delivery options online seem inconsistent. After selecting 'delivery with installation' option, it was somehow just processed as 'standard delivery' without my knowledge.

Items arrived on time, delivery guys were very friendly, but were only instructed to deliver, meaning items (washer dryer and fridge) were left boxed and uninstalled in living room.

Re-arranged another time slot for installation a week later (which includes removal of packaging and moving items to desired location, and giving it a test run to make sure all is okay). Paid £10 extra with a promise of being called around an hour before arrival (especially useful as I'm still in the process of moving and am not yet residing at the premises).

This did not happen. I was not called. They just arrived at 7.10am (???) with no warning. Luckily I have an intercom system which goes straight through to my mobile phone otherwise I not have known they had called. Because I wasn't at the premises this caused a huge problem. The installation guy was annoyed at me because I questioned why I hadn't been called as arranged (and as stated on the leaflet which arrived with my receipt). I had also been told that installation would take place between 8am and 6pm. 7.10am seemed a tad bit early. However, he reluctantly told me he would call me sometime during the day to alert me 30 or so minutes before his arrival, and took my phone number (an indication that he didn't have it in the first place).

I also called Comet for reassurance that I was still able to have installation and that 'their guy' would call me around half an hour before installation which a sullen voiced advisor confirmed.

6pm came and went. It DID NOT happen. All I'm left with is a Washing machine and fridge freezer sat in the middle of an empty living room, boxed and ugly.

Was generally happy with overall online service until today. The impatient installation guy coupled with general lack of help has sullied my satisfaction. The 'call before delivery' service is great in concept, but if you are unlucky enough to have to deal with an employee who just wants to get through his day as quickly as possible, it will NOT work.

Comet's customer service is abysmal.

I will NOT shop with them again, and am requesting a refund of their 'installation' charge..

Summary: Do not rely on these guys to deliver what they promise
