I have used Comet before and always been pleased with my purchase and received excellent customer service but usually have found them to be too expensive on most items compared to mail order.
That is until I went to check out prices of Widescreen TV's - I had armed myself with a price list from a internet mail order company which had the cheapest prices for tellys and was ready to shred Comets prices to pieces - which I did for all but their own brand Goodmans!!
Admittedly they are exclusive to Comet(and I was informed - made by Philips) but the prices were definetaly unbeatable!
They had a 32' Widescreen Nicam Stereo TV for £399 - This is the cheapest 32 incher you will find anywhere!
The picture and sound both seemed great - and indeed they are (I purchased one!) and when hooked to my SCANSC2000 DVD it's pretty amazing!
Admitably they have cut back on a few features like zoom fetures and sound options - but the majority of people would never use them anyway!!
So in conclusion I'm turned around on Comet - they offer some good value buys - and, I suppose, they are cheap for a High Street store!
