Bad employer! (Comet.co.uk)
Member Name: Annoyed person
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Everything If you think Comet treats its customers like garbage, you have a good idea how they treat their staff. I applied for one job on the website and got another, but nobody told me until I found out for myself. If I knew I would be in the role they put me in, I would not have accepted the job. I was asked in the interview a specific question that related to the role I actually applied for, so even the interview is deceptive. Also, you are not allowed to go to the doctor/dentist at all, you have to go on your day off. Can't get an appointment on your day off? You aren't going at all. They don't tell you this of course until you actually need to go. You are required to work bank holidays, fair enough. They never tell you you're required to come in on your day off. The contract is not clear about this and doesn't even mention having to come in on your day off. So if this leaves you working 10 days with one day off, that's too bad. You want to quit? Expect a full interrogation as to why, and they'll try their best to keep you. Not because they care, or they'll miss you. It's about their targets, which they aren't meeting. Working there, you will slowly realise that they do indeed treat their customers like garbage. They make it virtually impossible to get an exchange, even if some items were bought under 7 days. They have a rule, but they have a rule to get out of the first rule. It's a bad company to work for, it's a bad company to buy from. They lie to get you in the job and make it impossible to leave. Oh yea, if you do quit and you have an interview on a day which is not your day off, good luck because you can't have any leave to go to any appointments! Summary: You think they're bad to customers - they aren't better to employees. |
