Some years ago i bought two expensive PC's from Comet. It was at the time when home computers were still expensive and I spent a lot of money. I wanted to get an extended warranty because of the price of the items and made the big mistake of taking out the Comet extended warranty. After two years the desktop broke down and the nightmare started. The warranty company, based in Ireland didn't want to help even though they acknowledged my warranty and Comet were absolutely hopeless. I won't go into the hell I experienced with the warranty company but they dealt with me as if I were a nuisance. All I wanted was some support with a ver expensive warranty. I spoke to the Comet management at the store I purchased from but they didn't want to help and kept referring me elsewhere, anywhere in fact other than taking some ownership. I spoke to their head office and they kept promising to get back to me and didn't. All in all, i must have spent 10 hours phoning and going backwards and forwards from one place to another. In the end, I called my local paper who came round and photographed me, my warranty, my computer etc. As soon as they went to Comet to talk to them, Comet did something and after about a month, my computer was collected and eventually repaired.
This organisation just wants t take your money without doing anything for it other than being a supplier,
Why on earth did i go there in the first place when I could have gone to John Lewis
