Disadvantages: Costly court case required for justice

Having purchased a Goodman TV for £399 in Nov last year from Comet Darlington, the power supply unit failed one week after the guarantee ran out. It cost £98.90 to repair and Comet failed to recompense in any way saying it was not a major unit? If the TV does not work I think that is rather major. Be warned, the cost of exteded warranty is extremely high. The trading Standards could not help under the Sales of Goods Act so I was stuck with nowhere to except to the courts. As a 70 year old I cannot afford either the stress or the expense of taking legal action. All i can do is vote with my cash and never ever use Comet again. Not only did I get no satisfaction in my complaint but I was treated very facetiously by some self important jumped up indivdual at Customer Services. Services does not seem to be in the Comet vocabulary. Once again the little man is held to ransom by the big corporations. I only hope the credit crunch works on Comet.

Summary: THe big always win over the small.
