Comet dont accept Comet vouchers!! (Comet.co.uk)

I have just visited my Farnborough Comet store and tried to use £200 worth of Comet vouchers to buy a washing machine. Comet refused to accept the vouchers because they also mentioned Woolworths! Woolworths and Comet used to be part of the same group - Kingfisher. These are recently acquired vouchers so why are they still selling them - and then refusing to accept them!? The attitude of the sales manager was awful - no empathy with my situation and unhelpful to an extraordinary degree. I even offered to pay in full using a credit card on the understanding that once the voucher situation was sorted out they would refund the voucher amount. They refused to do this because it would 'confuse their accounts system'!!. I have used comet many times in the past but never again. I will be buying my electricals from john Lewis and Amazon from now on!
