Reading the many other opinions about how rubbish Comet are, I thought I better share my feelings with you.

Earlier this year we bought a 28-inch Proline TV, which is manufactured by Comet/ Kingfisher itself. Within 3 months it broke down. It just wouldn?t switch on. The following evening we went to the shop where it was purchased to complain. They said an engineer would come within 10 days to repair it. He turned up, spent two hours trying to fix it but failed miserably. He assured us new parts would be ordered to repair the TV.

Engineer no.2 arrived the following week, with the parts. Like before this bloke still could not repair the damn TV. He left arranging for collection and repairs at Comets workshop.

The collection bloke came several days later to take it away; they kept it for many weeks and would not let us know when we could expect it back again. Their telephone support team has to be the worst I have ever come across. After dozens of calls to their office we were told that it had been delivered to the Comet store many days before, but had forgotten to mention this.

We collected the rather large item and took it home. Only to find, just weeks later that the picture and sound flickered quite a bit. So we once again contacted head office who arranged collection once again, who tried to repair the TV once again. Not once did they replace the item or refund our money even though their own policy states that
?If a product needs to be repaired twice or more they will replace it.?
The TV is now back home, but we have seemed to be put off watching in the fear it might break down and will take weeks to be fixed.

So if you?re out there Comet please comment on what went wrong. The moral of this story is don?t go to Comet and especially not to buy Proline items. Any item purchased should last over a year let alone 3 months.

Customer service really lacks in the UK when you compare it to other countries. Why do we put up with it?
Do you think all these companies know that we write about their awful service etc on Dooyoo? I would love to know!
