Advantages: Good website
Disadvantages: No communication from Internet team., Useless customer services., They print out the whole of your details on your internet receipt you receive through the post, inc. full card number, expiry date and auth code.
I have had a nightmare with Comet. On the 11th November, I contacted them by email to tell them that the Pace free to view box I'd bought, was part broken. It's a very long story to shorten it, I emailed them 7 times, phoned twice and even went to the store (as I was sent there and then sent home again, 32 miles in total for nothing). Each time I got an apology and told that the internet web team will contact me very soon and each time they never did. At one point, I was even told that it was a matter for Pace and not them - even though i'd been told many times that a collection will be made by them as the box was less then 2 weeks old when I first contacted them. I wrote to Trading Standards about it as I was so fed up. Then, one morning, last week, I received a refund receipt through the post, even though no one had been in touch to arrange collection of the box. I emailed Trading Standards to tell them that it had all been sorted out after all and waited expecting a phone call to arrange a courier collection. Instead, I got an early morning wake up call by the courier and had to get out of bed to let him in, while he disconected the box and I got the packaging together, whilst still in my jammies! Very embarrasing. He apologised and said to his partner that "they'd done it again. She didn't know we were coming". So I suppose I'm one of many that have received a rude and unexpected awakening. That was around seven weeks after I first asked them for a collection. Not even any compensation (for travel costs) money or a goodwill gesture was made. I sent them an email after the collection of the box and, of course, haven't heard anything since. I can honestly say I shall never shop with Comet again and I should have listened to those that warned me about them (and many people did).

- 05/01/03 I would be livid if that happened to me.
Regarding the op, you would have been better to give us info about them before you wrote about your troubles. People would expect to read about the products they sell and prices as well as customer service issues. If you add to this then let me know and i'll come back and re-rate. |

- 03/01/03 I have to say that recently I had quite a good experience with Comet, after our Washer/Dryer stopped draining again (our fault, kept blocking it up!!), we went in to buy a new one, After speaking to the chap in Customer Services, he checked, found our warranty was still valid, got someone to come out within 3 dyas (day before New Years Eve), and said that they would write it off if it was too damaged. Chap came on time, fitted a new pump cos and elastic band was wrapped round it, and didnt charge us anything (which they can do cos it was our fault). Cleaned it all up and went on his merry way.
Now all I have to do is get the boiler repaired so i actually have some hot water to do the washing in!! |
