Advantages: very helpful

Disadvantages: quite addictive

My Fiancé and I got engaged 2 years ago. We started planning a wedding but found that due to no money and realising we couldn't afford to get a place together let alone plan a wedding we gave up on the idea. A few weeks ago however we took the plunge and invited the local priest around. The wedding felt real and we needed to start planning....well I needed to start planning the other half's view was "you have a look and I will agree".

I searched a few sites and was soon attracted by confetti.co.uk. My initial interest was for some reason in the wedding favours...why this came above venues, dresses or even theme I don't know.

CONFETTI.CO.UK

The site is very easy to use. The purple and white design is very easy on the eye and looks quite stylish. The webpage is very 'busy' but is still very easy to navigate. There is a facility to sign up to the site and create your own wedding page. My space (My Confetti) is a very useful tool in planning and maintaining my budget as well as ensuring the day goes really well.

FASHION AND BEAUTY

I found this section very useful for coordinating my wedding dress with my bridesmaids dresses. OK so I haven't bought the bridesmaids dresses yet but the advice I found on buying my wedding dress helped me find and purchase the perfect dress.

There are many tips on staying fit and healthy for the big day and whilst I don't need this advice for a year I can use some of the tips for nights out or interviews so its really good advice regardless of event.

WEDDINGS

I found this section very useful, it helped me understand etiquette and the general roles of each person. It gave the other half some useful advice on speeches as that was the bit he was most concerned about.

I was quite interested to also find that wedding insurance is crucial and that confetti.co.uk offers the insurance on the site.

SUPPLIERS
----------------
This page was very useful and gave many useful inks and addresses for companies. The search facility is really useful and I could search for companies in my area rather than trawling through pages of unwanted companies.

This is a nice touch and one that has and will continue to save me lots of time, money and effort.

TRAVEL
-------------
The travel section has some excellent advice on hen/stag parties and honeymoon venues. For anyone wanting to marry abroad the site offers excellent advice and tips. We had no idea where to have our honeymoon until we looked at the site and now we are faced with a dilemma.

CELEBRATE
-------------------
I found some great tips and ideas for the reception this section including the decoration and ideas for favours. This section is also useful for other parties including engagement, valentines and birthdays. Which proves the site is useful for more than just weddings.

SHOP
---------
Confetti.co.uk is a business as well as a free advice site. In fact some of the items on sale are amazing. After shopping around however the process are rather steep and I have preferred to shop in places like Tesco or have opted for buying items in craft shops and making my own items. I will buy a bulk of my items on here however such as disposable cameras, fillers for favours and table confetti because they are better than any I have found elsewhere.

The shop is well set up and is very secure. I am looking forward to spending the left over budget on pew end decorations, cake table decorations and other silly items like rocket balloons and helium (always a great addition to a party).

FORUM
------------
Probably the most enticing feature of the site was the forum, being a member of another wedding forum I had to join this one. I did get the feeling however that the community spirit was not as high and I did not prefer this one to the other (weddingchaos). On visiting the forum I realised that many people were talking about divorce and debt. I found it quite depressing.

I love to read the success stories and see beautiful pictures. The other forum (weddingchaos) has some great advice on small things like favour boxes, flowers and annoying mother in laws. Still the forum on confetti is a great source of instant advice and tips. I have read a few excellent tips on how to go to the toilet with a huge dress or how Vaseline can be a great resource for sweaty fingers. There are a few funny topics and discussions but I still prefer the other site.

SUMMARY
----------------
As a concise wedding advice site Confetti ticks all the boxes. It is useful and it's probably safe to say that in a night of surfing I rarely have to close the page down as everything I need is in one place...probably why my activity on Dooyoo has been so low recently.

Least I know my wedding will not be as hectic as the one on My Big Fat Greek Wedding because I will be well prepared and organised.
