I wanted to buy Elizabeth Arden clear lipgloss after I saw Carrie from sex & the city series wears it all the times *heehee*. But the university keeping me busy and it just not worth a trip from our campus to go the nearest larger town to get a lipgloss. Yup....buy it online is another alternative. It not easy to fine a good website that sells quality cosmetics that based in the UK (well...you can always buy from American website, but I just dont want to pay high shipping and tax for a lipgloss!). Luckily, when I was browsing the net, I found this website and decided to a look at it. So far...I think its not bad at all.

~~~A BIT ABOUT COSMETICS DIRECT~~~

The website adress is quiet easy to remember. You just go to Http://www.cosmeticsdirect.com and you'll see their offers right away. Since this is a UK based company, at the moment they only serve customers within the UK. They have a secure and safe website. You can pay them with several cards such as Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Solo. But you still have to pay shipping fee (not as high as American website of course) that you can choose between standard delivery and express delivery. Their website in general is very easy to understand. You can use their search engine based on what you're looking for, such as Lipsticks or Makeups. But you can also search by the brands.


~~~WHAT THEY HAVE FOR YOU~~~

They sells quiet good selections of makeups (hopefully it will get better by times!). You can find really good brands like Christian Dior, Nina Ricci, MAC, Bvlgari, Elizabeth Arden and Clarins, Estee Lauder.....but not only high class brands, they also sells high street brands makeups such as Revlon, Maybelline, Loreal and Almay. But this website is not only about cosmetics, they also have some perfumes, body care and vitamins. Basically this website has cosmetics and toiletries that you can browse around.

~~~WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT IT~~~

First of all, this w
ebsite offers full-size products (not sample or trial) with lower price than anywhere else (10-90% off!) . Sometimes its incredibly amazing prices! for example, retail price for a MAC lipstick is GBP.11, but they have it for GBP. 2.99 (Yes!!!). They also have 3 for 2 offers like my Elizabeth Arden Lipgloss. When I bought it, I knew that in department stores, it cost GBP.11, in cosmetics direct it only cost GBP.5 but if I bought 2, I will get another one free, so in total, my Elizabeth Arden Lipgloss only cost me about GBP.3.30 Thats an incredible savings I think!

~~~THE DOWN SIDE~~~

Well....as I mentioned that maybe they will have more choices in the future. This website have a quiet good selections of cosmetics and toiletries. But still not as much as Sephora or Boots website. For example, MAC lipstics you can only choose from 5 colours available. The colour in their site also not so clear, so the MAC lipstick that I ordered is slightly different colour as in their website. Its still nice colour, but not as I expected.

Their perfume collections are not much either. But when you find what you're looking for, you already save some money if you buy it from the website. Especially, if you use Clarins products, seems like they have alot more of these in there.

Another thing that sometimes they ran out of stock, so you have to wait longer than it should. My order took longer because since the Elizabeth Arden lipgloss on 2 for 3 offers, they have higher-than-expected orders (as the e-mail said!) so instead of 5-7 days for standard delivery, I have to wait for 10-14 days. I'm fine with that, but when the gloss came, I'm kinda lost interest with it already.

~~~THE SERVICE~~~

I can say their service is very good. I phoned them twice, one to ask about what number I should put on my details (I dont have line number), the second one is about my order. I'm impress that I actually talk to real people after wai
ting for a very short time. Usually, if I call about something that I order from the net, I will hear a monotone voice telling me to wait for ages. But not this one. From both call, I talked to very nice and friendly staff. Another good thing about their sevice is that they let you know about your order. When my order was late, they sent promt e-mail to let me know about it with their reason. So its makes me feels important and simply understand their situation.

I like the fact that you can order cosmetics and toiletries online. It is really save times especially if the website offers discounts like this one, you can save money as well. But I still prefer to go to the shop because trying their testers and actually sees the colour is the most fun of it.

But for something that I already knows such as my face cleanser or lotion, I choose to order it (if they have it!) because I dont want to pay full-price if I can pay cheaper price. But again......who can resist GBP.2.99 for a MAC lipstick???!!!
