Advantages: cheap prices and postage
Disadvantages: not enough info, and no gift wrap!
Recently I ordered 2 books from countrybookshop, and using bluecarrots I should have also got some cashback too.
I began to feel disappointed when I received my first email from countrybookshop and I was told that both books were on order, and SHOULD be here in 4-7 days. The problem being that when I ordered these items it did not tell me whether they were in stock or not.
Also I did not get any information about claiming the cashback.
There were no individual reference numbers for my books in this email, so when I got a further email saying that one book had been dispatched, and told its reference no. , I didn’t know which one they were referring to.
Secondly I requested free gold gift wrapping, and the first book that I received (the only so far) did not have any wrapping whatsoever.
I decided to buy from them because their prices were good. The postage you pay is 95p per book for the first 3, then it’s free after that.
I thought I got quite good deals on my books, but have been left somewhat disappointed.

- 16/02/01 I think your review is v. useful, I gave them a try, and they were nowhere near as good as some other sites.
The books I wanted were out of stock, so I didn't bother ordering, and used another site!! |

- 14/12/00 I know there are worse operations out there, it's true.
I am still waiting for my second book though, and it is supposed to be a gift for someone. I haven't heard anything from countrybookshop about this book's delivery either. |

- 09/12/00 Countrybookshop are definitely not as well-run as Amazon etc and the customer information/service aspect could be improved. I am ordered lots of stuff from them and have had no problems though. They are not a big company so they are never going to be as good as the huge stores, but I think they are usually very good. |
