But how does recent research suggesting that our bodies actually physically crave curry explain the ‘addiction’? Well, because eating curry is an arousing sensation that gives us a natural high. Because they stimulate far more taste receptors than the basic flavours in traditional British foods, curries raise blood pressure and heart rate, giving us the physical arousal we’re hooked on. Currypages.com bill themselves as the UK’s premier Indian Restaurant guide but while it may have that potential I wouldn’t say it lives up to its description at the moment. As with Dooyoo this ‘guide’ relies on reviews from the public and only time will tell if it might become the premier guide. It is a very simple site, easy to navigate and the search facility works reasonably fast. It has only a few sections: City Search, Top Eateries, Dish Glossary, Poll, and Links.
