I came across this website a good few years ago in a website directory and have ordered from it quite a few times. I would probably order from it more, but it is the price that puts me off.
The website www.cybercandy.co.uk is a site that sells chocolate from certain countries around the world. Their main country is America, but they also sell from mexico, Sweden, Australia, retro british stuff, New Zealand, Japan, Finland, South Africa and Canada, You can buy chocolate, sweets, juice and sometimes other things such as pop tarts, jams, pancake mix, juice and so on.
The home page to this site is easy to navigate round. It looks bright and cartoon-like. It has the countries down the left hand side to click on, some brands down the right hand size and special features on the middle of the page.
The shop is based in London, but they now have a brighton store. Anytime i've ordered I get the items approx 4 days later.
So now to the items, what chocolate can I get? Well there is too much to go into but you will find different types of Freddo's, different M&m'ss ( I tried M&M crispy here before they came to britain). One of my favourite Chocolate bars from here is from America and is called 3 Muskateer. It is made by mars and it is like a large Milky way, but the old style where the inside was a fluffy brown colour. The weight of the bar is 58g, and these cost £1.29, so that will give you an idea of the prices. There is an Australian chocolate bar my husband likes called Polly Waffle, which is Marshmallow in a wafer tube and all wrapped in chocolate. This costs £1.45 on this site. You used to be able to get these in Harvey Nichols and they were much the same cost. When our Australian friend used to come back to visit Scotland she used to bring loads with her and she says they sell for 40p in Australia, so you see the mark up in cost over here.
when you order on this site you have the option of if your item is out of stick you can get it replaced by another item, or just get a refund. I find that sometimes their stock is running pretty low, and I normally order quite a bit when I order, as I am not paying £4 postage for a couple of expensive chocolate bars. My worst order came on my last order and i've not ordered since.
The cost of my last order was £46, this had postage included. expensive for sweets, but sometimes that amount doesn't go far on this site. We ordered 4 twinkies and they were all out of date by 3 weeks. The 3 Muskateers we ordered, instead of getting the full sized bar, we got the equivelent lengh roughly in mini bars, like the Mars mini packs that you get. If I wanted mini bars then I would have ordered mini bars. I didn't think that spending nearly £6 on Twinkies and for them to be out of date was fair either, so I sent a stroppy e-mail to them. They agreed with the Twinkies but would budge on the 3 Muskateers, as they said they still provided the item I asked for.
I wouldn't say this experience has put me off ordered from here, but it will make me check the dates in future when I order again!
