Advantages: Retro sweets you thought had disappeared!

Disadvantages: P&P and prices can be high

Oh boy. We visited the Cyber Candy shop in Covent Garden, London a few months ago and had to be ushered out as it was close to closing time. The store is quite small but two floors of retro ssweets- mostly imported from the USA or Australia.

They sell things like can of Mountain Dew, NERDS, Pop Tarts, Lucky charms cereal, Different varieties of M&Ms, Australian Versions of Freddo Bars, Jolly Rancher hard candies, Hershey bars, Oreo's, Character Candy, Hello Kitty confectionary including a sweetie necklace with little kitty faces ... All the sweets people remember from when they were growing up that seemed to disappear.

We had a limited budget or we would have filled one of the bucket/ baskets they have for purchases and would have ended up spending an absolute fortune. One of our friends visited the store and spent £39 on random sweets. It is just a treasure trove.

The prices can be a little steep (£4.95 for pop tarts, £1.70 for jolly ranchers that used to sell for 25p in the UK) but you are buying back memories and revisiting treats you may remember from your childhood so it can be a small price to pay. On the fliside, you may have the impression that you adored something, then buy it and see it actually wasn't that special after all....

The website sells all the things the store does plus some things like mystery parcels and is updated with new stock. We got some cyber candy gift vouchers for a birthday recently and although it says on them they are redeemable online we couldn't understand how as there is no voucher code on them - they are just shiny bits of paper with the store logo on. after emailing the store, we managed to find out online you have to email the store your order if you want to pay with gift vouchers. As we only had £15 in vouchers and the P&P to the UK is £4.95 we decided to keep the vouchers and use them next time we go to London.

Overall- if you can't get to the stores, look at the website. Their stock list is huge and I don't want to just list everything they sell on here as it's more fun if you look for yourself...

Summary: Awesome stores and website
