Advantages: Cheap, Quick Delivery
Disadvantages: Send wrong items, Poor aftersales, Order Processing Fee
Hi All Just to let you know Dabs is not necessarily the best IT product supplier. I ordered two rather expensive Western Digital 250GB drives with the new Serial ATA interface, on the 21st August. Next day the order arrived, pretty good I thought. However, one was a 250GB UDMA drive not the new Serial ATA standard. The returns policy was longwinded, requiring Serial Number, Product ID, Box no etc... After all this they arranged for collection. I asked them to send me the correct drive on receipt. Apparently this is too difficult for them to do, they refund you for the incorrect one and then you reorder. All well and good you might think. I received and email confirming that a refund would be given, so rather foolishly went ahead and reordered the correct drive. Guess what, they sent me the wrong one again and to add insult to injury they don't refund your order processing fee, because that is per order not per item. Result.. still not got a refund... it takes a couple of days, no refund for part of the order processing fee. So effectively I have paid for their mistake. I am still waiting for the RMA number to return the new wrong drive and I am left with a Raid Array that I cannot set up because I need the two drives. The email system is very poor, much of the communication with them involves you sending them an email and getting a reply which bears little relation to the questions that you ask. Instead I receive lots of PR stuff which is inappropriate when I am having problems. Incidentally I would be interested to hear if anyone has had similar problems with them confusing the model number of this hard drive. It is the WD2500JD (SATA) not the WD2500JB (UDMA). It may well be excusable if they incorrectly boxed up a batch of drives However as of today (8th September) they currently have £530 of my money and I have the wrong drive again - not impressed having placed the original order three weeks ago.

- 09/09/03 Hi and welcome to Dooyoo! You've certainly not had much luck with Dabs! You need to include a bit more general info on the company to get higher ratings, though when you've had such rotten service from them, I can understand why people don't! Have a look round the site and do a bit of reading and rating yourself! This should hopefully get you more reads and you'll get an idea of what to include in your ops! Don't worry! It's not as daunting as it first looks! Hope this helps and that you enjoy your time here! :o) |
