Advantages: Great shop, great prices
Disadvantages: Postage a little high
I just wanted to leave my views on DanceDirect. I can only comment on what I have experience from them and the products I have got from them, so I do apologise if it does not help some people.
My daughter has been dancing for the past 3 years and as you can imagine it is very costly, with the leotards and shoes they need. When she first started dancing I was going to our local dance shop and getting her shoes and leotards from there, which was costing me a fourtune!!! £10+ on a pair of ballet shoes and this is for a 2-3 year old.
I decided to have a search on the internet to see if I could find things a little cheaper. This is how I came across to DanceDirect. I compared it with a few other dance wear sites and this one was by far the cheapest.
You can get leather ballet shoes for £4.25, tap shoes for £8.95, leather jazz shoes for £9.95, leotards for £12.95. Even when you add the postage on top, it is still cheaper than buying from our local dance shop.
They do everything you could need for dancing, shoes for women/children/men. Dance outfits for women/children/men, ranging from tutu's/leotards/warm-ups. They also do legwarmers/socks/tights. Also includes dance bags, posters, DVD's, gifts. All at 40% less than retail prices.
The name brands include Minella, BLOCH, Pineapple, PLLUME, B8, Sansha, Papillion, Capezio, Roch Valley and many more.....
Postage can be pricey I feel, but even when you add the postage onto the items, it is still cheaper than buying form my local dance shop.
Postage costs:
£0-£40 - £3.50
£40-£80 - £4.95
£80 - £250 - £6.95
Over £250 - free
I usually buy my daughters dance items in bulk, so I only pay one delivery charge over a few months.
All in all, anything that you need regarding dancewear this is the place to go.
Summary: Brilliant shop, great prices. All you need on one site

- 09/11/08 We found with our local independent store that the prices were extortionate - I suppose they have to pay overheads. Sounds a really good site, thanks. |

- 04/11/08 My 3 year old boy dances but so far he has not asked for any special clothes, not sure what they do for little boys, he'd probably be happy in a tutu! Rebecca Xx |
